If you're interested in adopting a new family member we ask that you stop by the league where you'll be able to view and ask any questions about the pets that are up for adoption. If you see a potential new pet we do have a playroom available, this is where you'll be able to spend some time with the animal and see if they will fit into your family and lifestyle. We have an adoption application that must be filled out prior to adoption. If you currently rent please bring the name and phone number of your landlord so we may verify that you are able to have a pet. Once the paperwork is done, we then make an appointment for your new pet to be spayed or neutered. The animal will remain at the league until the day of the surgery. We will transport them to the vet the day of surgery and you will be able to pick them up at the vets office the following day. If your new pet is already spayed or neutered they may go home with you that day.
Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society (JCARL) is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to: Be a haven for homeless and suffering animals * Provide caring people with good companion pets. Educate the public on animal concerns. Protect the community from possible dangers of stray animals.
JCARL is working with the Newton Correctional Facility in an effort to train and socialize dogs that need it before adoption. The dogs in this program are listed on PetFinder. There are still many dogs & cats housed at the shelter waiting for new homes. If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs taking part in this program, please call the shelter or email us for more information.
