Our Pet List

Our Featured Pet...

(Head Start dog in training) Radar may have been singing “Over the River and through the Woods…” as he made tracks around Hanover, IL. This year-old tan, brown and black German Shepherd mix male appears to know sit and is very food motivated (that comes in handy for training). He is bouncy and on the go, so we recommend kids 8 and up for this young fella. (Meet Your Match/Busy Bee)

Who We Are

The mission of the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is to promote the human-animal bond and the humane treatment of all animals.

Adopting a friend

The Dubuque Regional Humane Society has the largest selection of pets in the tri-state area. Adoption of the animals we shelter is one of our main functions. We use a variable pricing schedule for our animals based on breed and age. Microchipping is included with all dog and cat adoptions. We accept cash and VISA/Mastercard only. This fee includes the spay/neuter, the first distemper shot, the rabies shot and deworming. If you adopt a dog it includes a bordatella vaccination, rabies, distemper, deworming, and the spay/neuter. A feline leukemia test is available as an optional service. We work with over 45 veterinary clinics in the tri-state area so you can choose the veterinarian nearest you to care for your pet. Our hours are M/W/F 9-5, T/Th 9-7, Sat. 9-4, Sun. Noon to 4. Our Kennedy Mall Animal Adoption Center keeps Mall hours.
