ARL of Marshalltown is a 501c3 non-profit shelter. We take in over 2000 unwanted and homeless pets each year in Marshall County. We attempt to find as many of them as possible new loving homes. We work with other shelters, rescues and breed specific rescues to place animals. Before you buy from a breeder please consider one of our pets that are in need of a safe, loving new home. Our facility survives on the generous donations of the public in both monetary and shelter supply donations. Won't you consider making a donation to help with the animals in our care?
We are always on the look out for great volunteers to assist with the care of the our animals, helping with projects at the shelter and assisting at fundraising events. If you are interested in learning about becoming a volunteer, please send an e-mail to frontdesk@arlmarshalltown.com with "Volunteer" in the subject line.
To adopt a friend please take a look at our pet list and then send us an e-mail to request an application or an application can be downloaded off our website www.arlmarshalltown.com. We try to make the best match for your family. Please consider researching the breed of the dog you're interested in and asking lots of questions to help make the best choice for your family. Always keep in mind that puppies are very cute, but require a lot more work than most adult dogs. Another thing to consider is how much time you have to dedicate to your new pet. Remember that pets are not disposable! These pets are looking to become an active part of your family! When you adopt a pet, you are making a commitment to care for the pet for all of it's life.
