Greenbelt Humane Society

Our Pet List

Our Pets

We have many friendly cats that are black, white, grey, orange, calico and tabbies. They are all ages, from kittens to seniors. They have had their distemper and rabies vaccinations, been wormed and altered. All our animals have been held and played with and while we prefer indoor only homes, we also have a few cats that will adapt only to an outdoor setting. For these cats, we allow spring and summer adoptions only.

The Greenbelt Humane Society is open and full of pets waiting for adoption. We are state licensed for animals under 30 lbs. We always have plenty of adult cats and kittens most of the time. Call for more information and our hours: 515-859-7770.

Who We Are

The Greenbelt Humane Society's purpose is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education. We are a no kill facility. Our policy is to provide humane care and treatment for all domestic animals needing protection in the Greenbelt Area (Hardin County); to seek to return lost animals to their owners; and to seek suitable homes for animals without owners. The Greenbelt Humane Society is a member of the "very best pet network."

Adopting a friend

Our regular adoption prices are $50.00 for cats and kittens. Animals are current on vaccinations, wormed and altered before they leave our facility. They are held everyday by our volunteers and tested with other cats. Your help is needed in finding these wonderful animals homes. In order to match potential adopters with the best cat for their household, we ask that you fill out and bring the Cat Adopter Survey with you when you visit our shelter.
The form can be downloaded here: ADOPTER SURVEY
