Rossy came from an over crowded shelter. He is about 1.5 years old. He is super friendly and super sweet. He is a kisser. He loves people and does fine with kids and other dogs. Rossy loves to play! He likes tug of war, fetch, tag, and wrestling around with you on the floor. He loves his raw hide bone for chewing on.
He is about 10 pounds. We not sure what he is but he is a terrier of some kind. He is housetrained. He loves to sleep near people. This dog has a great temperament and is very intellegent. He is a runner so he does require a fenced in yard.

We have a few dogs that come from large breeding kennels. They were scared when they arrived but are do WONDERFUL in their foster homes. It is such a joy to watch them learn to play for the first time with toys or learn the pleasure of a gentle touch. We are happy to help them start their new life and help find them "forever homes".
We have a few dogs from local over crowded shelters.
Who We Are
We are a "network" of rescuers in the Midwest. Many of us have known one another for years from helping with various local rescue groups, shelters, and national breed rescue groups. All of us have had the experience of coming across a dog that needed help that didn’t have a rescue group that could take them into their program. We were finding that regardless of breed or whether a dog is "purebred", there are many of us out there who wanted to help these dogs and need a place to list them. Therefore, we decided to start Midwest Dog Rescue Network to help rescuers help dogs that would otherwise "fall through the cracks". We are a collection of rescuers and some good-hearted individuals, who are just trying to help as many good dogs find homes as possible.
We are an all volunteer, all donation funded registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization.
Adopting a friend
ALL our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption. Please contact us if you are interested in one of our dogs and we will send you a questionnaire to fill out so we can get to know you better. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, we will then put you in touch with the appropriate foster parent so you can find out more about the dog of interest.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE IN FAMILY HOMES. If you have an animal control problem please call 444-7800.
We do not have a shelter but foster out of our home, and the homes of many wonderful friends! If you are interested in one of our dogs, please contact us. Looking for a specific breed that you just can't find? Have you checked your local shelter? More than 1 out of 3 dogs in shelters are "purebred" . Many shelters rely on volunteers to update their websites and they might not always be current. Go visit your local shelter- you never know what you might find! Or contact us and we'd be happy to help you find a breed rescue group in your area!
