We are a small rescue shelter in Sioux City, IA, and take in only the love of our lives, BASSET HOUNDS , we would love to find them new, loving-homes. All of our Basset Hounds are altered unless they are to young to be altered and up to date on shots. All Basset Hounds are adorable (^^IOWA MAY NOT BE HEAVEN, BUT TO THE HOUNDS WE HAVE RESCUED,WE LOOK LIKE ANGELS^^), please call to set up a time to come look for yourself! and yes we do home visits piror to placing one of our basssets in a new loving home setting .We do home visits after words to to see how you are doing with your new bassset. IF YOU NEED US TO ONLY. We do also try to help out other breeds if we have room. WE WILL HELP TRANSPORT FOR OTHER RESCUES IF NEEDED TO.WE TRAVEL I80 AND I29 MOST WEEKENDS.

Eliminating animal cruelty through education. (Yes we have a elementry school who sponsers us and we do school visits to help show the childern how to take care of their pets .) Sorry we can add their name do to being elementry school.
Helping to reduce animal over-population with low-cost spay/neuter referral programs. (Yes we do hold clinic s now so if you need help contact us.) once a month)
Fostering a respect for all living creatures.
Adopting a friend
Animals reside at area shelters, or with their owners, or foster homes who are checked on and approved before fostering and are seen by appointments with their care providers.
Adoption fees vary from animal to animal depending upon the veterinary care that has been provided to the animal while in the RESCUE.
ALSO WHEN YOU ADOPT WE DO TELL YOU THE MONEY GOES DIRECTLY ON ANOTHER BASSETHOUND WE HAVE RESCUED WHO NEEDS CARE, WE DO NOT POCKET THE MONEY IF YOU NEED TO BRING BACK THE DOG THERE IS NO ADOPTION MONEY COMING BACK ITS DONATED TO HELP ANOTHER RESCUED BASSET AND IT IS TAX DEDUCTABLE . WE WILL EXCHANGE ONLY THANK YOU . WE AS WELL ARE AFFILITE NOT FOR PROFIT 501C3 ORGANIZATION.AND WE HAVE FILLED FOR OUR OWN.

Please remember that every animal available for adoption through Foxx and Hounds - Iowa Basset Rescue is fully-vetted for its age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested. All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every dog is vaccinated (age appropriate), microchipped, and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.
We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to lining up an appointment by emailing us at iabassetrescue@yahoo.com prier to visit the animal(s) at the animal’s home.
For more information on our adoption procedures, (such as requiring adopters to travel to central Iowa to pick the animal up when approved to adopt as Iowa Basset Rescue does not ship animals we do adopt out of state with a approved vet reference by letter head by mail and by phone calls .
