We Are: Baxter's Buddies
is a small 501c3 rescue. All animals are spayed or
neutered, heartworm tested and current on vaccines. All medical needs
are addressed and treated. We try our best to socialize the dog or cat
and make them well rounded for their potential forever home. We are
100% volunteer run so the animals for adoption can be seen by
appointment only at their foster home.

****NEWS**** OPRAH recently did a show on April 4, 08 on puppy mills. You can go to her webpage for recaps and info. She did a great job of describing to the public about where dogs at pet stores come from and the pet overpopulation. Click Here to read the investigation story. Remember, if not wanting to adopt please buy from a reputable breeder. Do not support puppy mills. A good breeder knows everything to know about the breed and parents, including faults. A good breeder also does health testing on their adults to make sure they do not pass on health problems. Just because a dog is registered does not mean they are healthy. Greta the Great Dane puppy that was with the Rescue was from an AKC breeder. She had aortic stenosis (a heart condition) which is in her bloodline and only lived to be six months old. The breeder is still breeding the parents and has no intention of stopping. So make sure you do your research! |
