Who We Are
The Waverly Humane Society is dedicated to helping the homeless, stray and unwanted animals of Bremer, Butler, Buchannan, Chickasaw and Fayette Counties where there are currently no animal welfare facilities. We are 501c3 non-profit as of February 10, 2009 and we do have a state of Iowa Shelter license and State of Iowa Foster Care License. We hope to have a local shelter facility in 2010.
We *do not yet* have a physical shelter facility but are working hard to raise funds with which to purchase a building. The Waverly Humane Society is a No-Kill State Licensed Shelter. As a licensed Non-Profit entity our reports are open to public view, just ask. We accept all donations, cans (refundables) or blankets, toys, food, litter... anything. Please call for the drop off address as we do not have a business hosting us at this time.
Our Volunteers
Priscilla is the Director of the Waverly Humane Society. She is also a Private Dog Obedience Instructor. She will assist you, in your home, to solve problems you may have with your dog, or just help in teaching manners and basic obedience. Private placement services rely GREATLY on donations. We could not keep helping pets without donations from generous businesses and individuals. If you are interested in making a donation, please feel free to call anytime. If you would like to donate to the Waverly Humane Society please check our list of needed items.

Bleach
Paper Towels
Cat Toys
New or Used pet carriers, Kennels, crates or Ex Pens (especially for large breed dogs)
Sturdy free standing outdoor kennels. Prefer something with a top.
New or Used towels and blankets
Cat Litter - Tidy Cats clumping is preferred
Finch Aviary (good for birds and also larger iguanas)
Cardboard Pet Carriers (the folding kind)
Reptile Housing (leaker fish tanks work nicely)
