We are a "no-kill" animal sanctuary located on the Island of Hawai'i. Our mission is to help, heal, and find good homes for abused, neglected, or otherwise homeless animals, chiefly cats and dogs. We also try to reunite lost animals with their human companions.
We offer an opportunity for people to interact with wonderful animals through volunteering and participating in our Sanctuary programs.
Adopting a friend
To adopt a dog or cat, you can browse our pet lists here on Petfinder, or go to our website, rainbowfriends.org, and see if any of the animals stand out for you. Then, call to let us know that you would like to visit to adopt a pet. Visiting hours are 10am - 3pm daily. We will show you your selected cats or dogs, and then, if you find a match, we will have you fill out an adoption form. We then will schedule a home visit to insure that the animal is appropriate for your situation. We ask for a minimum donation of $75 for dogs and $45 for cats. After the home visit, you will take your wonderful new companion home and enjoy many years of joy!
