Our Mission

Saving the lives of unwanted dogs and cats, in Georgia high kill shelters. To provide all medical care needed and place each rescue in a loving, approved forever home.
All of our rescues receive impeccable care, we feed Hills Science Diet Puppy Food. ALL rescues are Quarentined 14-21 days after being saved from HIGH KILL SHELTERS, to ensure no communicable diseases are spread. Our Quarentine facility is APPROVED by Georgia Department of Agriculture. We socialize all puppies with adult canines for social skills needed.
We rescue and place over 1500 canines yearly.
**No canines leave our rescue who have any aggressive behaviors, they are rehabilitated or placed in a sancuary setting.
PLEASE SUBMIT A PRE ADOPTION APPLICATION TO BE APPROVED FOR ADOPTION.
WE ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER EMAILS SENT THROUGH PETFINDER. IF THE RESCUE IS STILL LISTED ON SITE, THEN THE RESCUE IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.

Adoption Policy

We strive to place each rescue in loving, appropriate, and approved homes with families that will love and cherish them forever. We do not adopt out any rescue as birthday or holiday gifts.
Our dogs are quarantined at our rescue facility, based in Georgia. We are a self supporting Non-Profit Organization, we do not receive state funding. Our adoption fees go towards medical care of each rescue, food supply, medications, spays and neuters, vaccines, testing, and our rescue facility overhead.

We personally transport our rescues in our leased,
2018 Mercedes Benz, K-9 Express Freightliner that is specially equipped with, climate control for the comfort of the animals and special crates that keep our rescues free from any soiling while transporting 16 hours from Georgia.
We host monthly adoption events in Wallington New Jersey at Pet Supplies Plus. We are also a registered licensed rescue with the states of Conneticut and Rhode Island.Transport can be arranged to other states with prior approval and may have an additional fee.
NO rescue is able to be met before scheduled event unless stated otherwise.

We are a volunteer-based rescue, and save over 1500 animals from rural High Kill Sherlters a year, over 8500 lives saved since 2013. Majority of our rescues are saved from euthanasia, although we take in owner surrenders when space is avilable.

Please allow up to one week after application submission for an answer. We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our volunteers place rescues with matching families that will create a harmonious pair for life. While you may not be a perfect fit for the original dog you applied for, our volunteers can still approve your application and work with you to find a better fit.

The first step in our adoption process is applying with our online adoption application. This gives us a screening and a good look into you, your family, and your lifestyle. It is extremely important the application is read thoroughly and answered to the best of your ability.

IF YOU RENT: as stated clearly on the application, your application WILL NOT BE processed if our team does not receive either a letter of consent from your landlord OR a copy of the pet policy in your lease. Either document must be emailed to 2handssaving4pawshumanesociety@gmail.com

The next step is a volunteer reaching out to you either via phone call or email with follow up inquiries.
If your application is approved, we will ask if you want to participate in our pre-adopt program. Our pre-adopt program allows you to commit to your chosen dog, sight unseen, by placing a $200 NONREFUNDABLE deposit that will be credited to your overall adoption fee. If you chose not to pre-adopt, we can not promise that the dog you are applying for will still be available for adoption at time of scheduled adoption event.
