Albany Humane SocietyOur Pet ListPaw Print NewsWho We AreThe Albany Area Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation located in Albany, Georgia. We are dedicated to the welfare of those who cannot speak for themselves. Animals have rights too, and we are dedicated to ensure those rights are not taken away from these innocent creatures:
We presently provide housing and love for animals of Dougherty and Lee Counties, as well as the cities of Albany and Leesburg. We accept pets turned in by concerned citizens, as well as pets surrendered by their owners. Our future goals include the reduction of pet overpopulation, pet education, pet therapy, and cruelty investigations. We are striving to get the public involved and educating citizens in responsible pet ownership. The Albany Area Humane Society's shelter houses mostly small animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, and the occasional goat, pig, and horse. We welcome any support you can give: donations of supplies, such as blankets, towels, bleach, cat litter, toys, and treats, donations of time, and monetary donations are always welcomed and appreciated.
