PAWS Atlanta - Formerly known as Dekalb Humane Society Inc.

Our Pet List

PAWS Atlanta, formerly known as the Dekalb Humane Society, is a private, 501C3, no-kill shelter that serves the greater Atlanta area. We do not euthanize animals for space or treatable health reasons. All of our animals will be with us until they find their new owners. We hope that you come visit the shelter to consider adopting or volunteering with us. We have a great volunteer program where you can spend time with the animals and help care for them and find them new homes -- just come and look see what we're about. Please call or email us at cmitchell@pawsatlanta.org if you are interested in our volunteer opportunities.

All of our cats and dogs (and puppies and kittens!) have already been neutered or spayed -- this helps prevent more unwanted animals from being born and ending up homeless. Our cats and dogs are microchipped (a rice-size digital chip is placed between the shoulder blades so they can be reunited with their owner if they get lost), dewormed, up-to-date on shots appropriate for their age, and the dogs have been tested for heartworms and the cats for feline leukemia and FIV. Dogs receive heartworm preventive; all the animals are treated for fleas, ticks, and ear mites (if necessary). The minimum donation to adopt is $175 for dogs and $125 for cats.

Come visit us!
