News
The Humane Society is looking for volunteers and foster homes in our area. Volunteers can do anything from going to Petsmart to cleaning at one of our local vets who houses some of our animals. Foster homes are needed to house animals until they can be adopted. So if you are looking for something to do with all that extra love and space consider fostering a homeless animal.
Who We Are
The Hart Co Humane Society was formed in 2006 in response to the tremendous amount of community outcry by the citizens of Hart Co. Due to the fact Hart Co. has no animal shelter a countless number cats and dogs are routinely deposited on back roads. The Hart County Humane Society is not a building that you can visit. We have a shelter license with the Dept. of Agriculture and rescue discarded animals through a network of foster homes. If you are interested in adopting one of our homeless animals please contact the foster home they will arrange to meet with you. We appreciate your interest in our cause. Hart County Humane Society does not receive funds from any groups or government agency. We rely on fundraisers and donations to support our foster program, spay/neuter program and provide assistance to families in need so they may keep their pets. Hart County Is a rural area and our Humane Society is very young. Our hope is to educate the community about responsible pet ownership, but our funds are limited and our group is sometimes misunderstood. Our passion is to promote a better future for our companion animals in our community. If you would like to join with us we welcome you. Membership fee is $25.00. We are a non profit group and hold a 501-C3 status therefore all donations are tax deductible. You can mail your membership or donations to Hart County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1062, Hartwell, Georgia 30643.
One of the Hart Co. Humane Society is to draw attention to this problem and seek a solution with our government. The Hart County Humane Society depends solely on donations and volunteers.
Our commitment is to keep our unwanted animals happy and healthy until they are found happy loving homes.
