News: Updated JUNE 2008 June is Adopt-A-Cat Month! Cats can lower your blood pressure, help prevent heart disease and beat depression. But adopting a cat is not only good for your health, it’s also good for your community. Shelters and breed rescue groups feel the effects of "kitten season" every spring and summer, when most litters are born. These organizations need your help to alleviate their cat and kitten populations, and the animals need good homes. We have lots of Puppies & kitties. We have plenty of both of them & even lowered the price on them. We also have lots of adult cats & dogs. Give grownups a chance. Seems we get our numbers down & we turn around wala we are full again. We will be at PetSmart this Sat, Sun from one pm to at least 6 pm. If at all possible one of us will try to be there before 1pm. Please stop by and say hello or fall in love with a cute little furry face.

.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```````~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We really could use some dedicated animal loving volunteers to help with several areas. Please let us know if you are interested & where you live. We are working on getting photos online as soon as we can. We have several more than listed here. ask us if you want to see one at PetSmart in person, we will make sure they are there when you can make it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Claws & Paws is an all volunteer, no kill 501 (c)3 non profit rescue. We do not put down animals to make room for new ones. None of these animals will be put down if you do not adopt them today. Give the grownups a chance too.

Who We Are

PAST Claws and Paws Animal Rescue of Marion County was formed and incorporated on December 20th, 2005. PRESENT Paws and Claws has adopted a no kill policy. We do not euthanize animals as a means of population control. Instead, we focus on spay/neuter efforts to reduce the pet overpopulation. We are NON-Profit & ALL VOLUNTEERS. This means 100% of ALL donations go directly into caring for these animals. . We also accept aluminum cans & newspapers too. If you would like to sponsor a pet, make a regular monthly donation or make one large donations for a tax deductible purposes , We & all the animals here would greatly appreciate it.
FUTURE Our ultimate goal is to have no homeless dogs or cats in this county. With time and proper education in our schools and community on spay and neutering, our citizens can learn how to better care for animals, thus preventing an overpopulation of unwanted animals. We hopefully will have more caring dedicated volunteers come on board. If you are in the Marion Co. area please help us continue to help those animals in need.

Adopting a friend

All of our pets are spayed/ neutered, up to date on shots appropriate to age, feline or heartworm test (neg), & multiple deworming. Dogs are microchipped & cats are for a small fee ( if wanted) as most are totally indoors. Adoptions are mostly done at PetSmart on Bradley Park Dr in Columbus, GA. We are there every Friday, Saturday & Sunday from noonish or 1pm until 6pm or later. The animals at the shelter must be taken care of here before we can head to town. We are working with a very small group of volunteers at this time. It is almost an hour drive to Columbus. We occasionally do adoptions at the shelter by Appointments only during the weekdays. It is highly unlikely we will be able to do adoptions at the shelter on Fri, Sat & Sundays. Please call ahead before you come to see us. I have included directions to PetSmart & to the shelter on the bottom link of this page. Click here to see our furry friends that are up for adoption. PLEASE MAKE AN APPT BEFORE MAKING THE TRIP TO VISIT US. IT IS RARE THAT WE WILL DO ADOPTIONS AT THE SHELTER ON THE WEEKENDS. PETS ARE OCCASIONALLY SEEN BY APPT ONLY DURING THE WEEKDAYS AND MOSTLY AT PETSMART ON THE WEEKENDS.
