Angel Dog would like to recognize the members of the community and the Angel Dog volunteers who have stepped up to help us. We are all working harder than ever to help the animals anyway we can, in spite of our current situation.

Progress made on vet bill - UPDATE! (01/18/2009)
We are excited to announce the bill is down to about $2,200! We want to say THANK YOU to everyone that has helped us to reach this point. However, intakes are at an all-time high and most have to have Heartworm treatment. We're so close to our goal. If you have not given yet, or even if you have, please think about giving. $100.00… $50.00… $5.00. It all adds up for our animals and we thank you so very much for any help you can give.

Help for the Helpless in South Georgia

So many dogs in our area are in trouble. So many are helpless.

They are outside, constantly looking for shelter. Or worse, chained so that they can't look for shelter. They are starving, being abused and abandoned. These tragic creatures are living on the street. They suffer from starvation, heartworm disease, fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites, injuries and mange. No one is looking for them; there are no "MISSING DOG" signs for them. In fact, many were deliberately dumped. For some, they have never known a kind human touch; people are to be feared and never trusted.

These are the dogs that Angel Dog Rescue Inc. is committed to helping. We are a small group of animal lovers trying to help abandoned animals get medical care and good homes. Our mission is to take in and treat as many as possible.

This area has no animal control, no humane society or any other animal shelter in the vicinity. There are dogs everywhere you look - living under porches, in ditches, in people's yards and under abandoned cars. We are the only hope that these dogs have.

We are focused on adoptions and rescues. In order to keep dogs coming in, we MUST keep them going out. The more dogs we can send into forever homes or transfer to other rescue groups in other areas, the more we can pull of the streets and into safety.

All dogs posted are available for adoption or transfer.

Please help us help them!

Rescue Friendly

UPDATE 2/10/2009: Dangers escalating for our homeless animals.
Remember, this area's kill shelter is the streets. Life has recently become even more dangerous for the homeless animals around here, with new cases of poisoning, road accidents and shootings coming to our attention in the last few weeks.
ADR is no-kill, and our dogs are safe in foster homes, but resources are limited. We are unable to help the dogs currently starving, injured or in danger until the ones in our foster homes find their forever homes.
Take one of our dogs and you will be helping two: the one you take and the one Angel Dog would be able to save from certain death and give a future free from misery and suffering.
**Please remember that transport is available all over the eastern United States.

Not able to rescue one of our pups?
Why not volunteer?

We cannot expand our reach and help more animals without your help. We are in desperate need of volunteers. Not all of it has to be on-site. We have many virtual positions available. We are in need of a rescue coordinator. Someone who can be available to answer questions when rescues inquire about our dogs. We need someone who will help us network our animals. We have many dogs who could go to breed specific rescues, but we need someone to contact them. We can't do it alone, but we know that with your help, we can continue to help so many more animals.

Interested in volunteering? Get our volunteer application. After you have submitted the application, please contact Tammy at AngelDogVols@gmail.com or call: 860-989-1183
