Carroll County (Georgia) Animal Shelter
Carroll County Animal ShelterCurrent Animal List
. PLEASE NOTE: CARROLL COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER ADOPTION POLICY CHANGE! Starting immediately, adopters are allowed into the "holding facilities/pods". They must sign up for the animal they want to adopt. At that point, the animal will be sent out to be vetted. When the animal is returned by the vet, the adopter will be charged the normal adoption fees - $95 for a cat and $115 for a dog, unless a special price reduction is being offered.
The shelter will continue to have "adoption pods" where animals have already been vetted, and anyone - rescuer or adopter - will be charged the regular adoption price for those animals. The adoption prices include the following: spay/neuter; rabies; da2ppv or fvrcp shots; heartworm test for dogs; feline aids/leukemia test for cats; deworming; and microchip, plus 30 days of pet insurance. Rescue groups are allowed into the "holding facilities/pods" at the Carroll County Animal Shelter to see all animals. As long as the "Ready Date" on the cage card (3 days after being picked up) has been reached, a rescue group can pull an animal at no charge. Rescue groups are expected to have the dog or cat vetted by their own veterinarian. Questions? Call the Carroll County Animal Shelter at: 770-214-3590 (note: this is a brand new number). KITTY is available for adoption at the Carroll County Animal Shelter. Come by and see her in person! KITTY KITTY (ID 59-8-26-08-11) is a wonderful dilute Tortoiseshell - her fur is blue and peach. She is young and would be so happy to have a home again. All of the animals have been spayed or neutered; have had a rabies and distemper shots (fvrcp for cats/dhlpp for dogs); have been tested and found free of feline aids and leukemia (cats) or heartworm (dogs); have been dewormed; microchipped; and come with 30 days of pet health insurance. A cat/kitten adoption will be $95 and a dog/puppy adoption will be $115. If those figures sound like a lot of money to pay for a dog or a cat, please remember that if you were to have all those medical services done yourself, it would cost you over $200 at least and often much more. So if you adopt a pet from the shelter, you know that you are adopting a healthy animal that probably not require another vet until their next rabies shot is due. The shelter information is:
