He is going to the beauty shop for a hair cut today 2-12-08 and be neutered on 2-13-08 UPDATE: Max did not get a very good Valentine from the vet, he has tested High positive for heartworms. Max needs your help. Max is the 4th dog in 5 months we have pulled that had heartworms. Our vet bill is very high. We must raise the $$$ to get our bill down, So we can get Max in for treatment PLEASE if 30 people would donate $10.00 That would pay down enough to get Max in for treatment. Pay Pal address is GCRS@hughes.net, or call the vet @ 770-258-3256 If you call the donation in please e-mail me & let me know so when we have enough $$ raised I can schedule his appointment. Thank you to donators....Kathy B., Angelia W., Gina T., Theresa B., David F., Angel C.
Still need 21 more..... UPDATE 3-27-08 we have only raised $85.00 for Max, that is not even a drop in the bucket towards the cost of heartwprm treatment or on the vet bill owed, if we could get the bill down I could charge his treatment, but right now the bill is only growing, the Beagle pups listed their mom was Hit by a car and we spent nearly $500.00 for the surgery to repair her leg......plus Romeo just came in. PLEASE PLEASE help us. UPDATE: Max was treated on 4-21-08 and by Friday 4-25-08 he was back in the hospital throwing up blood. They wanted to keep him over the weekend. I picked him up on 4-28-08 he is on prednisone and lasix. He is down in the dumps poor boy. Keep him in your prayers. I will update again in 3 weeks after his 4 week check up.

"PURDY"
Purdy is our new heart worm positive baby, she is a sweet Spaniel mix, I took her to doggie daycare and she did fine, however she is a bossy little girl she likes to nip at the legs of the other dogs playing. As soon as we recover from getting Max treated we will get Purdy in for treatment. Any donations will be appreciated.
Our RESCUE OF THE MONTH...
"ROMEO"
I would like to introduce Romeo, he is a 6 year old quarterhorse. Right now it takes a minute to get your hands on him but once you do he is so very sweet. As you can see from the photos Romeo needs to gain quiet a bit of weight. He is currently 800 lbs and should be around 1150 - 1200. This horse was taken from a home that just didnt care what happened to this boy. He got out on a # of occasions, but the last time he was almost hit by a car. Animal control then took him in and the owner never came to claim him. His health is so poor we were called in by animal control to take a look and see what we could do so now here he is. He has a 1000 lb bail of hay at his disposal and will get some good grain & supplements for a while. The vet was out today and he is now a gelding, and said over all health wise he was going to be ok, however he is not as tall as a Quarterhorse should be but this is the result of not getting the proper nutrition he should have gotton as a young boy. Any donations of hay or sweet feed is greatly appreciated, our pay pal address is gcrs@hughes.net. we also owe a "HUGE" vet bill you can call the office and make a donation over the phone as well. 770-258-3256. We will update again in a couple of weeks and let you know when this beautiful boy will be ready for his forever home.
Well we are at week 3 and as you can see Romeo is packing on the weight, he is doing wonderful in the round pen very smart picking up on his ground work very well. Next week we will get the saddle out and see how it goes but it will be a few more weeks before anyone trys to mount him. He is showing more spunk, so that is a good sign he is feeling much better. He prances around his holding pen showing off for the Mare. We will post more pics in a couple of weeks
Yesterday was just a perfect day....Romeo got a much needed bath and enjoyed it very much, we worked him under saddle for the first time, I even sat in the saddle and he was great. But most exciting he was released into the pasture along side my mare & Butt head gelding and things couldn't have went better, nose to nose across the fence with my gelding (who is dominate) we held our breath and there was not a peep out of either one of them. The SPIRIT has returned to this broken boy, he ate some much needed green grass and he got to stretch his legs this baby ran & ran.
We will now begin taking applications on Romeo he should be ready to go to his forever home by mid May.
PLEASE HELP
Please help support our rescue. T-Shirts $12.00 + $3.00 shipping. It cost on average $75.00 weekly to feed all our critters. Then there is the cost of Shots, spay & neuters, heart worm testing, heart worm prevention, flee baths and flee prevention. This is for the easy ones. There are the ones that come in with skin conditions that require a series of dips and medications, and the ones that have been hit by a car or injured in other ways, this requires x-rays surgery and usually extended stays at the vet. The cost can be tremendous at times. Any small amount will help. $11.50 will buy 50 lbs of dog food. If you would like to make a donation you can do it on PayPal to gcrs@hughes.net.
Who We Are
We are a NON-PROFIT rescue group. Most all animals here have been pulled from Death-Row only because their time was up. Their forever homes are out there somewhere and they deserve the chance to be found no matter how long it may take.
Would we Put to Death children in foster homes and orphanages at 5 years of age because their forever family had not come along. Certianly Not. It is no different with these sweet babies. And they only get 7 days at most places. What kind of chance is that?
Jeremiah 27:5~ With My great power and outstretched arm, I made the earth and its people and the ANIMALS....
1 Timothy 4:4 ~ For EVERY creature of God is good, and NOTHING to be refused, if it be recieved with thanksgiving.
A rescued animal is the most thankful creature alive. A kind word or a pat on the head will get you unconditional love.
Proverbs 12:10~ A righteous man cares for the needs of his animals..
All the animals have been checked for temperment, kids, cats, other dogs will also be in this temperment check and you will be informed if there are any things your future sweet baby may not do well with.
Any cats or kittens will be inside adoptions ONLY. At 4 to 6 months we will come out to do a "Happy Tails" check on you and your new Sweet Baby. And if allowed Pictures of your family with them to post on our web sight.
Any donations will be appreciated....dog food, cat food, treats, news paper, old blankets or towels, dog houses, fenceing, crates, kennels, carriers, dog beds, cat litter, Hay or straw, advantage or frontline, food bowls, bleach, papertowels, garbage bags, ink cartridges, printer paper, stamps, envelopes, collars, leashes, "TOYS", any monetary donations are accepted and we love gift certificates to pet stores and office supply stores.

I can not take in owner surrendered animals or strays. I do not have the funding for this. Call your local Humaine Society or Animal Shelter. Thank you for your support. And remember help control our pet population have your pets spayed or netured. Save a life!!!! Adopt a shelter animal......DO NOT buy from breeders or pet stores.
Adoption fees And info
The adoption fees are $150.00 for dogs, $125.00 for cats. ALL ANIMALS WILL BE ALTERED BEFORE THEY CAN GO HOME WITH YOU!!! The adoption fee helps cover the cost of Vaccines and spay or neuter, worming, vet check, heart worm testing and prevention, flee and tick prevention And micro chipping. There will be some that will have a special adoption fee depending on the cost of their special needs to save their lives. PLEASE understand we operate only on our adoption fees and donations. PLEASE do not call me and ask that I reduce the fee or give you an animal for free, some of the animals we spend hundreds of dollars on to save them and sometimes we have hit by car dogs we spend hundreds of dollars on trying to save them only to loose them in the end. We do not make ANY profit from the adoption fees, so I am sorry but I cannot and will not give away my rescue babies.
We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
NEVER ADVERTISE "FREE TO GOOD HOME"
Unfortunately, "free" is too often seen as "worthless" in
the eye of the beholder. This is how some people see your give-away pet:
FREE bait to train fighting dogs and greyhounds
FREE snake food
FREE sacrifice for satanic rituals
FREE animal for malicious pranks
FREE to a good home to breed indiscriminately
FREE fish bait
FREE money from the research lab
FREE animal to set on fire
FREE animal to insert a firecracker into
PLEASE don't offer your companions FREE to a good home unless you just don't care what happens to them. Volunteers who work endless hours to save pets from the horror of abuse and homelessness bring this message to you.
Pet overpopulation is a growing problem:
There are 45 cats and dogs for every one person born.
Only one out of 10 dogs born ever find a permanent home.
Only one out of 12 cats born ever find a permanent home.
800 dogs and cats are destroyed each HOUR in the U.S. because there are not enough homes for them!
