Our Mission Statement
To improve the lives of companion animals through sheltering homeless pets, providing spay/neuter services through our reduced cost program, and educating the public in responsible pet ownership
DCCHS is a nonprofit organization comprised primarily of volunteers. DCCHS contracts with our city and county governments to provide sheltering services for municipal animal control and our community's citizens. Our shelter is staffed by employees.
Each year our shelter takes in approximately 6.000 dogs and cats. Please help us to reduce those numbers by spaying or neutering your pets and by having identification on your pet.
Our shelter is located at 620 Iron Road in Douglas, GA, next to the City of Douglas water treatment plant. It is off highway 221 between highway 158 and highway 32.
Our shelter is open to the public on Monday - Friday from 12 pm to 5 pm.
