Meows Without Moms doesn't always know where kittens come from or why they were abandoned, but we care for them regardless. Sometimes nature is smarter than we are and the newborn dies despite our best efforts. We find comfort knowing they were warm, fed, safe and had experienced love. When we are successful with raising them and they find a loving home, it makes the emotional and physical challenge of raising them worth it. We know some lucky person or family will be receiving the wonderful gift of unconditional love as well as a piece of our heart. Meows Without Moms has also assisted our environment because a pair of breeding cats, which can have two or more litters per year, can exponentially produce 420,000 offspring over a seven-year period. With donations from kind hearted, generous people and successful adoptions our mission can continue.
Our biggest challenge that successfully beat all odds has been Lucas. To see his infant photos and to talk to the vets that we visited early on, we were given less than a 10% chance that he would live. However, I have learned to listen to the kitten and if they have a will to live, I don't give up on them. I also believe giving them a strong name also helps. Named after George Lucas, who was told by many early in his career that he would never be a movie producer, he didn't listen to them either and even changed the way we view movies today. It was that drive that inspired me to name the kitten Lucas and I am happy to say, he has proven everyone wrong by living and growing into an amazingly beautiful young one. His best friend, Bobby has been a strong force in his life as well and we hope to find a home that will keep these two "friends of the force" together. Thank you for your consideration.

Who We Are
Meows Without Moms began a few years ago when we discovered there was a need for caregivers of orphaned newborn kittens. We are the first rescue to specialize in newborn rescue and provide the time consuming around-the-clock care these little ones require to survive. In addition to feedings every two hours, the kittens must be burped, kept on heat, stimulated to relieve their bladder and bathed. They benefit greatly from the love and attention received from volunteers, whether human, feline or canine.
Most people take for granted that when kittens have a mother cat, the lactating feline feeds them for "free". This is just one of the added expenses when taking care of an orphaned newborn . Many compare it to having a baby in the house with the daily loads of soiled laundry, sleep depravation, and when you do leave with baby cat in tow, you have to take several supplies with you.
It is definitely a labour of love and well worth it in our eyes. Finances limit how many we can assist so please help us in whatever capacity you can. Our main fundraiser is selling books, DVDs, VHS, games toys and electronics on Amazon at www.amazon.com/shops/babycatmom. We accept donations of these items as well if you are cleaning off bookshelves or updating your movie collection. You may wish to sponsor a kitten or one of our special needs residents. We are always grateful for donations of litter, formula, bottles, towels, human baby food (meat flavors), heating pads, cat toys and volunteers!
Our goal is to teach others how to foster newborn kittens, educate the community on the need to spay/neuter pets and emphasize the lifelong commitment one must make to a pet. We would love to make you a part of our family. After all, love comes in all colors and the gift of unconditional love is the greatest gift of all
Adopting a friend
To get things started we ask that you fill out an application located under "the nursery: page on our website at www.meowswithoutmoms.org. We will then set up a time for you to come visit our nursery and see if anyone captures your heart. We encourage you to visit a couple of times at different times of the day if possible to get a good feel of the kittens personality. We are always glad to try to assist you in matching the personality that would work best with your personality as well as with any established pets you may already have at home. Adoption fees depend on the age of the kitten at the time of adoption and the level of vaccinations they have received. Our kittens receive excellent veterinary care and are tested for feline aids and leukemia as well as spayed/neutered before adoption to make sure you receive a healthy kitten and your present pet family's health won't be compromised. We hope you will consider making one or two of our little ones a part of your family! After all, when one leaves our home, it makes room for another to be saved...
Come Visit Us!
Because of the special nature of our rescue, we do not have a retail location where we hold adoption days. Our kittens are raised in home environments and we invite you to visit our homes after you fill out the adoption application. Come visit the wonderful and diverse personalities of our kittens and see if one doesn't grab your heart strings! We appreciate your consideration and support.
