Who We Are

Over four years ago, when Dr. Sherry Weaver opened her practice in the Woodstock community, Don's Orphans began. Her vision was two fold, a way to give back medically to animals with special needs, and to continue the generous nature of her late father, Don Sanford. The animals that have benefited from these efforts found our hospital in many ways with every story imagined. Most of the pets were found, had medical issues and seemed to have a chance of regaining their health and becoming a good pet someday. Others wiggled in with stranger stories. Our hospital is by no means a rescue center. The doctors and staff give back to the community by volunteering to help animals in need. Most have found wonderful homes but we often have new orphans looking for their person to love.
