Which one are you?

"Everyone benefits this Earth. Some do it by living, others only by dying and freeing up space. You've stil got time to make a choice." Power Curve by Richard Herman"

Thinking of a Holiday In Greece? Think Again. Your dollars will help the Government of Greece to continue the horrible suffering of the animals there and deny it to the public.

My conversation with our attorneys in Athens representing animal welfare issues...point to the fact that WAG's Tourist Boycott Campaign has had a positive effect. The Ministry has contacted our attorney requesting a meeting. We desperately need to beg everyone to send out another mailing. This is imperative. If you are interested please contact fluffyfroggy@gmail.com or Marijo and ask her to send you a sample so you can begin your letter writing campaign. They are undeniably worried about the number of e-mails from around the world. I implore you to bear with me as we all stand on the precipice of possible change and blast the Greek government officials once again. You guys did it! I Can Not Foster Any More Animals Right Now

Please understand. I am a small rescue and can not take another animal in. I am full to the gills already. If you are able to foster the animal you have found, please contact me and I will do my best to find the dog/cat a forever home. If you are not able to foster please do not think that just beause I am a rescuer I can take the animal. I am a sole rescuer with many animals under my care. You are a single person with one dog/cat that you found. Please see that it is not my responbility to foster the animal for you because you can not keep it because your husband emphatically says NO or your boyfriend says "he will leave you if you keep that mongrel." You know what I have said in the past to someone who told me that AND would say today if it was me....

Pet Portraits...

For the most beautiful pet portraits that look likelife please visit a special lady's website at: www.twoscompany-ny.com. She does the most beautiful work. There is a portrait and print gallery, and 'additional artwork' where you can see her love for the animals and she says that her committment to help animal's is through her artwork.

Hooch. A Story...

A story to the individuals involved for the neglected dog “caught in the middle.” The following was dictated by phone: It is with pure joy that we are able to inform the rescue community, and those who heard about this dog's plight, that Hooch is free. Broken from a life in chains, he is now the Royal Crown Prince of Rotti Arabia, living on a luxurious farm somewhere on Earth. He is finally cherished. His blessed new family showers him with love. He has many four-legged friends with whom he romps freely. The one-inch wide circumferential scar around his neck is a lasting reminder of the past. That notwithstanding, it turns out he is a kind and gentle soul who now stands proudly in the present. Thank God, he finally has a future. **** This case quickly became an "icon of cruelty" whose story reached such faraway lands as Japan, Switzerland, Ireland, England and Australia. Hooch represents many exploited souls who live their lives encumbered by chains of horror. He was a victim many times over. His people who maintained his life of misery are to blame. Yet, the authorities with whom we invest our trust, who have an obligation to serve our nation's defenseless, failed this gentle dog all the more. At the core of this case, it wasn't miserable Draconian laws that failed him. Suffolk County SPCA, shame on you. Hooch's conditions rested comfortably within the limited confines of your cruelty laws. Over a six-year period numerous complaints were filed with your staff. You freed him for a day, the day the chain was surgically removed from his neck, only to return him "home". While Hooch is free of his chains, you must live your lives imprisoned by the chains of guilt and failure to carry out your responsibilities properly. The intricate elements of this case necessitated months of careful planning. You get one shot to change a life. Get it wrong, and the animal's fate is sealed. The duration of this case, from the time the rescue community was alerted to the time the case was closed, led to months of frustration and concern. The outpouring of support from all of you is what saved this soul, as well as the skill and dedication of a sophisticated team who risked their freedom on behalf of Hooch. These people came and went, we'll never know who they are -- but we know the deed they did and thank them deeply. "We set you free from a life encumbered by chains. By caring about you we cleanse our souls of guilt and apathy had we turned away as others did. The priceless value of your life and your indomitable spirit far outweighs our own fears of reprisal. Dear Boy, it was an honor to serve you." - Raiders of the Lost Arf

Our Featured Pet...

We have many featured pets.......all of the foster parents have many dogs and cats that need loving homes. How can we pick one out of many to be special at any given time....we think they are all special or we would not have rescued them. If you are interested in meeting on of our rescue animals, we ask that you call us to make an appointment. Part of the adoption process is filling out an application, which will tell us what kind of lifestyle you have and what kind of new home you can offer to one of our rescued animals. If your application has been approved you may arrange transport for the animal. The costs for transport are paid by the adopter. However, the adoption process has to be completed, the contract signed and the adoption fee payed in full prior to transporting the animal. Animals Of The World United reserves the right to deny applicants based on their adoption policy and their requirements for an adoptive home. Our adoption fees vary, depending on the age and condition of the animal, and depending on the costs of vet bills for that particular animal. However, every animal has a set adoption fee that is not negotiable. The adoption fee partly reimburses the organization for costs made to properly care for these animals. The costs that we have far outweighs what ever we receive back in adoption fees and donations.

News

My eventual goal is to open a rescue, along with my best friend Diana that houses exotic wildlife including lions, tigers, bears, etc, and also domestic animals including horses, cows, burrows, dogs, etc. My other goal is to get my law degree in Animal Law to prosecute animals abusers. A bigger dream is to get state and federal laws changed to make animal abuse a felony with a mandatory 5-10 year jail sentence with no parole.

Who We Are

Animals Of The World United is a small rescue. I also help people who have rescued animals and have no where to turn to and by putting them on my website to try to get those animals adopted. I started out rescuing cats in my neighborhood but late one night after I moved I found a mama dog and her 3 puppies who had been dumped in someone's yard out in the country. I had to find a broad base to show of these beautiful babies to people who would be interested in adopting them, so Animals Of The World United was born.

Adopting a friend

We do not specialize in any type or breed of dog, cat or pig. It's what we find that fill our pages and we never turn away a dog, cat or pig in need. We are a actual NO-KILL rescue and keep our animals until the perfect home is found. Please do not be offended if for some reason you are refused a pet you are interested in. I do my best to match the potential adopter with the "right dog", the "right cat" or the "right pig". We are a home based rescue. Our rescues and fosters live with us, which gives us a better understanding of each pets personality.
