Southern Comfort Animal Rescue, Inc. is 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that rescues and rehomes abused, unwanted and abandoned companion
Southern Comfort was founded in 2001 in Savannah, Georgia, to provide shelter and find temporary foster or permanent homes for pets left behind when
troops in nearby Ft. Stewart's 3rd Infantry Division shipped out to Iraq and Afghanistan.
In 2006, the organization moved to Glenwood, Georgia. Southern Comfort fills a critical need in Wheeler County, which has no other rescues or animal
We specialize in physical, social and emotional rehabilitation of our rescues. All animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive
any and all medical treatment before being placed in carefully screened forever homes.
Southern Comfort is a "no-kill" rescue and only euthanizes in cases of irremediable suffering or vicious and dangerous animals.
We also work to raise public awareness of the plight of homeless animals and promote the benefits of adopting an animal in need through community
outreach and education.
Southern Comfort Animal Rescue is a 501c3 (not-for-profit) organization. We exist because of the generous donations of our supporters. There are
many ways, both monetary and otherwise, that you can help us in our mission to help homeless animals find loving forever homes.
SoCo Rescue gladly accepts any new or used building materials. We are always looking to improve the housing quality of our rescue animals and will use whatever we can obtain. Currently, we employ the use of our home as a means to house many of our animals. While we can not boast about having a big, beautiful facility, we do take great pride in providing our rescued pets with the very best in vet care and much love. Please consider making a monetary or material donation to help us continue to provide the very best for our rescued animals.
