Oh Master take this oath for me: "I do solemnly swear to accept the responsibility for the animals put in my care. To tend to their basic needs of food and shelter. To minister to their ailments. To put their well being before my own, if need be. I swear to treat them with respect. To always remember that we have made them dependent on us and therefore have put their lives in our hands. As God is my witness."

Our 1st annual Pets in the Park at Dowdy Park in Summerville was a HUGE success. deJoly LaBrier made & donated a beautiful hand stitched quilt that we raffled off. Please be a responsible pet owner and have all pets spayed/neutered to reduce the overpopulating, homeless, and neglected pets that roam the streets and go hungry.

Who We Are

Pick-A-Pet Adoptions was established in October, 2003. We are a non-profit organization established under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our goal is to reduce the number of animals euthanized in Chattooga County and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to assisting homeless pets find their "forever home". We do not have a shelter (we are a home-based rescue) therefore all animals are placed in foster homes until the "purr-fect furever" home is found.

We have a few darling pets that came to us shortly after our inception that have yet to find a forever home. They are in desperate need of a caring, loving family to be able to call their own and know a life other than being one of a dozen in a foster home. If you would really like to be appreciated by a loyal companion for the rest of your life, please take a close look at: Jada & Addy - their hearts are full of love to give to someone special.

A BIG THANK YOU to Karen in Canada for putting our application online. Thank you for being our Webmaster!

Adopting a friend

Our adoption program's main goal is to place homeless pets in committed, responsible, forever homes. Individuals wishing to adopt a pet must complete an adoption application. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADOPTION FOR ANY REASON. The adoption fee for dogs is $100.00, which includes current vaccinations, worming, heartworm testing and spay/neuter. The adoption fee for cats is $50.00, which includes leukemia/FIV testing, current vaccinations, worming and spay/neuter. Once an adoption is approved, an adoption contract must be signed.

Volunteering and Donations

Pick-A-Pet is always in need of foster homes, volunteers, pet treats, rawhides, cash donations, paper towels, bath towels...just anything that may be needed to care for the animals. Our entire program is funded through tax deductible donations and fund raising events.
