Come check out cats and kittens, also we have lots of nice dogs and puppies for the family also. When you are calling to check on one of our animals please refer to them by there animal ID number. Our adoption fee is $75.00 for a male dog and $85.00 for females that includes spay/ nueter, rabies vaccination, shots, dewormer, and kennel cough. Our cats or $65.00 including kittens. That includes sapy/ neuter, shots, dewormer, and rabies vaccination. A lot of our animals come in as strays so we cannot guarantee any of our animals are housebroken.
If you are intrested in making a donation please bring it by the shelter. We can use cat food, cat litter, dog food, treats blankets, towels, batheing supplies etc........ As of March 15, 2010 if you are not a Richmond County resident you will be charged a $35.00 dollar drop off fee.

Want some beneficial exercise? Why not walk a shelter dog! Not only do you get some exercise, but our animals benefit too! The fresh air, exercise, and human contact is just what our dogs need to find them wonderful homes!!!
The construction of the new Animal Shelter and Animal Services offices were completed and operational in January of 2004. The new facility is located on Mack Lane off Tobacco Road adjacent to the old facility.
This high-tech, state-of-the-art facility was contsructed with Special Option Local Sales Tax funds. The new shelter is 17,500 square feet with the capability to hold 316 animals. There are 60 kennels for adoptable dogs and 56 cages for adoptable cats.

Augusta Animal Services (formerly Augusta- Richmond County Animal Control) is the sole provider of animal services to Richmond County(Augusta). Our mission is to protect human safety, property and animal welfare by controlling animals and enforcing the law.
The majority of dogs and cats admitted to the richmond county animal control shelter of Augusta-Richmond County becomes a number.A statistic to be counted., . Most will die silently, frightened and alone and disposed of at the county landfill. Please consider adopting one of these wonderful, loving animals.

Starting on July 13 th 2009 The shelters new hours will be from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday and we will be closed on Saturdays. Our volunteer group takes some of our dogs and cats to petsmart on robert C. danels pkwy on Saturdays ffrom 11:00 to 4:00 for adoptions.
