Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation was established to rescue and rehabilitate unwanted and physically and/or mentally injured "Bully Breeds" (such as the American "Pit Bull" Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and the Bull Terrier), as well as the Rottweiler, Presa Canario, Neapolitan Mastiff, Cane Corso, and Tosa-Inu. For clarification, the Pit Bull was NEVER bred for human aggression, and is NOT human aggressive in nature: our organization does not tolerate human aggression, regardless of the breed, under any circumstances. These breeds are truly unique and for this reason were chosen because of the reputation that has been acquired or is expected to be acquired due to the negligence on behalf of breeders irresponsibly placing these dogs with unknowledgeable and irresponsible owners. This in turn results with owners who fail to provide the required socialization and training that is required according to the specific needs that each individual breed requires. These breeds are feared by the eyes of the public because of the negative attention they receive from the media. It is the goal of Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation to rescue, rehabilitate, and place these loyal dogs into knowledgeable, loving homes for the remainder of their lives. This will be done by means of having potential adoptive families fill out an adoption application, provide personal and veterinary references, and be susceptible to a series of announced and unannounced home checks to ensure that the well being of the animal is being considered. It is essential to educate the potential adopters of the breed they are interested in and make sure that the individual breed and dog will fit the new family?s lifestyle. As a result, reducing the numbers of euthanized animals.
Each dog that is brought into Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation is brought current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and placed on prevention or treated as needed, fecal tested and dewormed, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and socialized according the specific requirements of the individual breed. Surgeries and other procedures will be performed as needed for the dogs. Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation is always looking for potential adoptive families as well as potential foster families. Please feel free to inquire about either if you or someone you know might be interested in helping us save more lives.
It will remain a goal of Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation to restore the reputations of these breeds, educate the public and potential adoptive families, and reduce the numbers of unwanted, euthanized animals.

Curious to know why you hear about so many "Pit Bull" attacks? Here's why: statistics are no where near remotely accurate for the number of "Pit Bull" attacks. "Why?" you ask? The answer is simple: people don't know what a Pit Bull truly is. Don't believe us? Take this test to see if YOU know Pit Bulls Find the Pit Bull Our guess is that it took you several tries to find the REAL Pit Bull. Here's another one Find the Pit Bull Still took you several tries, right? Now you see why statistics are not accurate: people, in general, do not know what a Pit Bull really is, and since there are more than 30 different dog breeds that resemble the Pit Bull in appearance, it's easy to see why you hear, all too often, about a Pit Bull attack. Pit Bulls are too often blamed for incidents that involve other dog breeds, when most of the attacks do NOT actually involve Pit Bulls. So, spread the word and help restore the reputation of the world's most abused, neglected, and manipulated dog breeds.
Still don't believe us that Pit Bulls aren't what the media makes them out to be? Then check out The American Temperament Testing Society and see that the American Pit Bull Terrier scored a higher passing rate than most of the popular "family dogs".

The Center of Our Attention...

Because we are recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, your donations (both monetary and material items) can be considered a tax write-off for you.

Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation is always in need of donations for the health and happiness of our rescue animals. Because donations are always needed (and much appreciated), donated items do not have to be new, or in excellent condition. Any and all donations will be accepted and used. Items that are typically needed consist of:
We are also in need of vehicle donations, particularly a large SUV; if you have a used, reliable vehicle that you are interested in donating to Pit Prints for a tax write off, please contact us. You can receive a write off for the full value of your vehicle's worth, without the hassle of advertising it for sale or meeting with potential buyers while helping Pit Prints.| We use, recommend, and need Kuranda Dog Beds: these beds are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. Pit Prints Rescue/Rehabilitation is currently working on ways to improve reputations of the breeds we work with, and ways to raise money for costly veterinary expenses, housing/boarding, food, and other necessary care costs. We are planning on having a Pit Bull Parade and Picnic summer/fall 2006- we are in desperate need for volunteers for this large, annual event. We also need volunteers for bake sales, garage sales, and car washes. If you and your Pit Bull would like to join us to help raise money for needy rescues, and to help restore the reputation of this breed, please visit our website [link at the top of this page] for more information.

Please be advised that ALL of our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered PRIOR to being adopted, and therefor CANNOT be bred. If interested in breeding and/or fighting, DO NOT contact our organization regarding ANY of our rescued dogs.

An adoption application, references, home checks (both announced and unannounced), adoption fee, and contract are required for adoption. This is to ensure that the dogs are placed in homes that are suitable for their breed requirements, temperaments, personalities, and individual needs, and to be sure that potential adoptive families are serious about adopting. This also ensures us that you have the best interest of the dog at heart, and the dog will be adopted as a permanent member of the family. Please note: Our organization only adopts to INDOOR homes: chains, runners, kennels, pens, fences, etc. are NOT acceptable "homes" for our animals. Dogs, especially those we work with, need constant human interaction and companionship, which can only be received by living indoors as a member of the family. Please do not contact us regarding adopting one of our animals if you cannot or are not willing to provide the animal with an indoor home. If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs you see on our site, please fill out and submit an application here Adoption Application
