MOAS is a private non-profit animal shelter serving Madison and Oglethorpe Counties. We only accept animals from residents of these two counties, but will happily adopt to anyone willing to provide loving care for our orphaned animals. Who We Are
The Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter (MOAS) is not a typical shelter. It is not drab, depressing or institutional. It does not smell bad. It's intention is not to control animals, nor is it to shove as many animals as possible into a tiny, dark, stuffy cell. What it is, is a state of the art facility serving residents of Madison and Oglethorpe counties, Georgia. Residents with 2 legs and residents with four legs. Even residents with 3 legs. The main criteria is a fuzzy face, a cold, wet nose and a big heart.
Adopting a friend
The Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter has an animal for everyone! Whether cat or dog, baby or adult, short, tall, slim, fat, black, white or just a little bit of everything, MOAS has it. Each animal is examined, vaccinated, de-wormed and spayed or neutered. If you wish to adopt a new pet, all you need to do, after picking out your new friend, is fill out our adoption application, sign an adoption agreement (basically stating you will care for this animal for the duration of its life) and pay a fee of $75 for dogs and $65 for cats (senior citizens may enjoy a discounted rate of $55). That's it! And you'll be the proud new parent of a wonderful furry companion. You'll also enjoy the warm feeling that you have saved the life of an abused, neglected or otherwise unappreciated animal.
