Featured dog: DUSTY
This picture was taken about a month ago. Please see Dusty's pictures on her profile to see her progress. She is approx. 1 to 2 years old. She was found in Harlem with a serious skin condition caused by malnutrition and neglect. Dusty was heartworm negative but was not spayed. She is very sweet and eager to please. She seems to like other dogs and so far has not shown any aggression towards cats. Dusty has come a long way and is looking for someone as special as she is.
Featured Cat:
Mindi:
Mindi was rescued from a business when the trap she was caught in was attacked by dogs. She has a ripped ear, but she is a beautiful cat anyway. She was caught outside, but would probably make a fine indoor cat. She is still very playful and is affectionate when she gets to know you. She will need to be brushed a couple of times a week.

LQQKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!!!!--If you are in the Thomson/Augsta area and would like to help out a good cause come work with McDuffie County Friends Of Animals. We need all the help we can get and love to see new smiling faces and open hearts!!! If you love animals and want to help your community here's where to look.
Who We Are
McDuffie Friends of Animals is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. We are a small group of volunteers who rescue stray animals from McDuffie County and adopt them to loving homes. Our goal is to one day have a no-kill shelter of our own. Presently, there are no other humane groups to serve this county, so any support or donations are appreciated.
Adopting a friend
The adoption process is very simple. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian before they are eligible for adoption. All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and AIDS and all dogs over six months are tested for heartworms. All animals have received their first set of vaccinations and are de-wormed before they are adopted. The adoption fees range from $75 to $125 depending on the vet services the animal has had. Some of our animals have been micro-chipped and some have had dog obedience training. Plus the adoption fee covers the rabies shot when they are four months old and their sterilization when they are six months old. Sterilization is required! You must fill out adoption forms and sign the sterilization agreement.
