We are a group of rescuers in the Southeastern part of the United States.We are dedicated to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Breed. We have members in AL,FL,GA,SC,NC,and TN.We rescue CBR's from shelters,owner releases to rescue, strays, ect. We place them in foster care, get to know them and then adopt them into appropriate homes. All of our pets availible for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on all shots, tested for heartworms and started on prevention. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, you may contact the foster home directly and you can visit the CBRR&R National Website (http://www.cbrrescue.org) to fill out an online application. A home visit is required before an adoption can take place. This enables us to get to know you and your family to help fit the right dog to the right family. We are also here for support after the adoption if any problems should arrise, training questions, any advice needed....we are here to help you and your new pet have a great future together.
Get to know a Chessie
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are the oldest AKC recognized retriever breed. They are a wonderful breed however they are not for everyone. They require alot of time and training. They are very active dogs that are loyal to their masters. They need at least 45 min a day of good hard exercise(ex..running,walking,retrieving,swimming)they need a job to do...if you don't give them one they can find one (and you might not like their idea of a job). They need to know who is the master in the house..and it isn't them. They are protective over their masters property, and their family.
