Who We Are

PeachState Pet Partners (formerly Pet Partners of Habersham), is a non-profit, federally tax-exempt charity whose purpose is the promotion of humane treatment of animals. We provide humane education, adoption, and foster home services for rescued or abandoned animals, and network with other rescue groups in an effort to find the best possible homes for the animals. We rescue animals at risk of euthanization at animal shelters, provide safe haven for abused and neglected pets, help owners re-home pets, and help people who have found abandoned animals, as long as we have available space.

We also have a discount spay and neuter program available to anyone regardless of income, as long as funding is available.

Our organization is made up entirely of volunteers, and foster homes receive no compensation. We do collect a $150 adoption fee for dogs and $125 for cats to help defray the costs of veterinary test, rabies vaccination, micro-chipping and spaying/neutering.

We conduct our adoption events generally on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at PETSMART, across from the Mall of Georgia, from 11:30 am - 4:00 pm.

We generally bring most of our available animals, but please call us at 706-776-1923 if you are interested in meeting a particular pet.

We also do many adoptions midweek with approved applications.

WE NEED RELIABLE VOLUNTEERS AND FOSTER HOMES!! TO INQUIRE ABOUT EITHER, PLEASE CALL: 706-776-3112.

PSPP Nominated for Award

PeachState Pet Partners has been nominated for a $10,000 award sponsored by Adopt-a-Pet. The winner is determined by an on-line vote (which takes less than a minute). Although we were nominated late in the process, we are hoping enough supporters vote for us so that we can save even more at-risk dogs and cats in the coming year.

Featured Dog Adoption!!

In December of last year, PSPP rescued Daisy, a sweet young pit bull who had been the victim of domestic violence and neglect. (You can see how thin she was in the first photo.)

But this sad story has a happy ending! The Vogel family, of Duluth, decided it was love at first sight! (And Daisy felt the same way!) Doesn't Daisy look happy with her new "dad," Bradley, and with her new "sister," Michaela?

PSPP would like to thank Daisy's secret benefactor for helping with her vet and boarding costs!

Featured Cat Adoption!!

Every rescue group and shelter knows that the most challenging cats to rehome are black ones. For some reason, people just aren't inclined to adopt them. Poor Brandy, who had been with us for more than a yeqr, couldn't understand why she had to wait while so many others found families! All of that changed when Toni and Rob Easterday, of Powder Springs, took one look at her photo and knew she was the cat they had been waiting for! Thanks, Toni and Rob, for seeing how really special Brandy...now named Greta!...truly is.

Wonderful Dogs Looking for Homes!

Dogs Pictured: Left to Right; Top to Bottom

  • Mike was found wandering in the center of a main road by a well-known"drop off" site. He is friendly and seems to brighten up alot when around nice children !
  • Carlee is a beautiful German Shepherd-Boxer mix who has had obedience training and would be a great family dog.
  • Molly is a pure Labrador whose owners were elderly and became ill. She is about 67 years old a good with people and pets.
  • Precious is about 5 years old and came from an animal control facility. She is very sweet and playful . She cuddles and is good with other animals and people.

  • Special Needs Dogs

Faith loves her bright yellow rain jacket! This very happy-go-lucky girl lost her sight in one eye because of prolonged food deprivation, but is doing very well now. She so much wants a forever home! Click on Faith's photo to learn more about this special girl...and watch her video to see her in action!

Adorable Eddie and Maggie are mature toy poodles who have lost their home. These cutie pies (who must be adopted together) have many good years ahead of them, and can't wait until they find their new family.

Buford,a nice younger boy, showed up in the neighborhood of one of our foster homes. He was emaciated. In fact, blood work was grossly abnormal, and possibly due to starvation. Also, even though he is young, he was positive for heartworms.
He is in need of futher lab work, and it needs to be back to normal before he can be neutered.Costs have already been slightly over $200.00,which included heartworm treatment and lab work. Future costs for lab work, and the neuter are estimated at around $125.00
You may help by donating towards his care.
Donations above vet care costs go back into our general fund.
This is a very social dog and used to other animals and seems great with children.Maybe he would be the perfect match for your home.

    Special Needs Cat

Moonpie is our "Gentle Giant" who was left behind when his owner moved out of their apartment. Sadly, after living outside for 2 years, Moonpie contracted the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) from another cat...one more danger facing cats who are allowed outside. Moonpie can live a normal lifespan with good care, but needs to be an only cat or be with another FIV+ cat. (He poses no risk to dogs or people.)

Please note that you can also see Moonpie in our "Photo of the Month" shown below!

    Young Kitties Still Need Homes!

There are so many cats and so few homes! At least that's the way it seems sometimes. All of the "teenage" kittens below are super kitties! They are all personable and sociable...but still haven't found their forever families. Can you change that sad state of affairs for at least one? Click on their photos below to learn more about these cuties!

  • Blue Belle was rescued on the day she was to be euthanized. And now it's time for her to find a family!
  • Rescued from a storm drain, Stormy is a lovely kitten. She is one of the rare orange females. (Most are male.)
  • Savannah (Cornish Rex mix) is very special...She doesn't understand why no one has taken her into their home!
  • Ling (Siamese mix) was shy at the beginning but now loves to be with her foster mom! (Her best friend is Leo!)
  • Leo is celebrating Valentine's Day! (His sweetheart is Ling!)

    Adopting a Pet

We want you to be happy with your new pet. To this end, we screen both pets and potential owners for a good match, and to avoid future problems with dogs and cats that aren't suitable for a particular adoption. Our animals are vaccinated and tested for common diseases. The adoption fee helps offset our costs associated with our veterinary expenses, including includes vaccinations, micro-chipping, and spaying/neutering procedures. Dogs must pass a basic temperament screening test, and we do not accept animals with a history of aggression towards humans.

In order to make the adoption process as successful as possible, we screen adoptive homes, and follow-up after adoption. Some of our dogs require fenced yards and most of our pets require home visits.

Please call 706-776-1923 to learn more about any of our pets or to request an application. You can also e-mail us for more information.

    Volunteers Needed!

We are always looking for volunteers for a variety of activities, and we especially need dedicated individuals and families who are willing to serve as foster homes. We are limited to the number of dogs and cats we can save based on how many foster home slots we have. Please consider this incredibly impactful way of helping homeless pets!

We also need help at adoption days held at PETSMART near Mall of Georgia. We do adoptions from internet applications anytime we have an approved application. Please contact us for more information.e-mail or call 706-776-1923 and leave a message.

    Other Ways You Can Help

Operating a rescue organization is a very costly endeavor. Costs associated with the actual rescue activities, routine veterinary care and out-of-the-

ordinary medical costs for special needs animals, food, heartworm and flea prevention medication, food, feeding bowls, leashes, collars, chew toys, cleaning supplies...and on and on!!...really add up. We very gratefully accept financial donations and in-kind contributions to help support our efforts. Please click on the Donate Now button to make an immediate donation (Or mail contributions to the address below or drop them off at one of our adoption events.)

Our wish list includes such items as quality-brand dog & cat food (dry & canned); Unscented Kitty Litter (Clay and Scoopable); Kong Toys & Stuffers; Cat toys; Dog Biscuits; Cat Treats; Non-Edible Chew Toys (Nylabone or similar); Snap Collars (we like to give them new collars when they come in); Dog and Cat Beds – All Sizes; Squeaky Toys for Dogs; Collapsible/folding Crates.

Please contact us is you are interested in donating any of these items. Thank you!!
