Warner Robins Animal Control "Give the Gift of a Second Chance..." Find out how you can help by sponsoring an animal through our new program! GA- Dogs of Ours Going Out of State GA– DOGS OF OURS GOING OUT OF STATE The GA—Dogs of Ours Going Out of State program was derived from the cooperation between the Warner Robins Police Department Animal Control division and various animal rescue groups. Due to the large number of abandoned animals per year, the Warner Robins Animal Control division looks for different ways to give these animals a second chance and a reliable home. When animal rescue groups take an animal from the shelter, it is their responsibility to have the animal spayed/neutered and have various medical tests. The costs of these procedures add up very quickly. These rescue groups operate on donations from the community. Due to financial constraints many animals are not adopted and are eventually humanely put down. When an animal is adopted by a rescue group it is often transported to another part of the country to be placed into homes as pets. The transport of the animals also affects these groups financially. The GA—Dogs of Ours Going Out of State program is a way for the community to sponsor a puppy for the various animal rescue groups. Alleviating the costs can give an animal a second chance at a decent and safe home. HELP FROM COMMUNITY VETERINARIANS The Warner Robins Animal Control Division is deeply appreciative of the following local veterinarians who are giving their time and services to help alleviate the cost of animal adoption. The Georgia Department of Agriculture states that all animals must be spayed/ neutered and receive various medical testing before it can be taken out of state. These local veterinarians are giving the gift of one free spay/neuter per month for one animal at the Warner Robins Animal Control facility. This gift alleviates some of the costs to the rescue animal groups to adopt an animal from the shelter and transport it to another location for adoption.
