The Humane Society Pet Rescue Fl, Inc is pleased to say, we're federal tax exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the internal Revenue Code. Contributions to us are tax deductible under section 170 of the code.
Our mission is to give animals a good chance to get a forever happy home. We have a no kill policy!
The volunteers work very hard to educate the general public about treating pets more humanely by offering advice on, training, feeding, grooming, where to find low cost spay & neuter, and preventive medications.
When funds allow we help the public owning pets during hardships with food. What we do after a pet is surrendered to us or rescued; we temperament test the pet, and then we treat the pet for any medical conditions, and grooming. This includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, preventatives such as heartworm & fleas, behavior issues, etc.
When ready the pets are promoted to find a forever home through our adoption process. The prospective adopter does the pre adoption form for our viewing process, we try to match the pet to the home, and if acceptable then we proceed with the adoption agreement. The adoption fee is collected; if the pet has not yet been altered a fully refundable deposit is held until the pet has been altered. Spay or neuter, and rabies vaccination is included in the adoption fee.
In many cases home visits are done prior to placement of some pets. Landlord letters are required by renters
