The volunteers work very hard to educate the general public about treating pets more humanely. The volunteers offer advice on, training, feeding, grooming, and much more. Now we offer low cost spay & neuter to anyone needing it, also low cost vaccination clinics on Saturday, call for dates. 863 357-1104
What we do after a pet is surrendered to us or rescued; we temperament test the pet, then we treat the pet for any medical conditions, and grooming. This includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, preventatives such as heartworm & fleas, behavior issues, etc.
When ready the pets are promoted to find a forever home through our adoption process. Our program believes in matching the pet to the right family. The prospective adopter does the pre adoption form, interviewed, then we try to match the pet to the home. If all is acceptable then we proceed with the adoption agreement. The adoption fee is collected; if the pet has not yet been altered a fully refundable deposit is held until the pet has been altered. Spay or neuter, and rabies vaccination is included in the adoption fee.
In many cases home visits are done prior to placement of some pets. Landlord letters are required by renters, ownership must be verified.
The Humane Society Pet Rescue Fl, Inc is pleased to say, we're federal tax exempt under section 501c (3) of the internal Revenue Code. Contributions to us are tax deductible under section 170 of the code.
We are still renovating our facility and now in 2011 we're expanding. Please help us to make our facility a good stopover for the pets while waiting for a forever home.
Volunteer positions open for housekeeping for the animals, grooming them, office, repairs, events of all types including adoptions, and many other positions. Help a few hours a week or a month, whatever your time allows. Our mission depends on volunteers and public support to operate.
