Our Mission
Parrot Outreach Society is a Florida based, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, state-wide resource for companion parrots. We rescue, rehabilitate and facilitate adoption of parrots to loving homes. We educate our volunteers and the community about birds and their care.
Adoption Policy
The step-by-step process is outlined on our website. To summarize, the public is always welcome to tour our rescue location where they can pick a bird they are interested in. They can then fill out an application and schedule 3, 1 hour long private bonding sessions with that bird. A home visit is scheduled after their bonding time has been completed. The requirements regarding, cages, food, enrichment and vet care are reviewed. The application is approved if all requirements are met. The new parents come pick up their new bird, pay the adoption fee. Our group is strives to stay involved with parrot families.
