Who We Are

We are a NO-KILL, non-profit rescue and adoption facility dedicated to finding wonderful homes for wonderful pets. We have dogs, cats and birds and other loving pets longing for a new forever home. We currently have more than 30 cats and kittens, and more than 70 dogs and puppies looking for new homes.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption fees are as follows: $130.00 dogs, $85.00 cats, fees for other animals vary. Adoption fees cover spay/neuter, current vaccines and microchipping. We do require a home visit as the last step of the adoption process for all dogs. For home visits outside of Indian River County an additional trip charge will apply.

Our Featured Pet...

Right now we have several cats that have so much love to give. With the overwhelming population of "cute and cuddly" kittens everywhere, the adult kitties tend to get overlooked. We have momma kitties who were so devoted to their babies and now their babies are gone. The Momma kitties are still here, patiently awaiting their chance for love. Please remember the grown kitties when you are considering a new feline member of your family. Many of them have been declawed and need a safe home to curl up in. Thank you.

News

We received the donation from the clambake festival ... $15,856.38! We are so happy to have the communities support for the shelter and cannot say thank you enough!!!! We also recieved $500.00 from the Welcome Wagon. Thank you so much to everyone! We are very excited to keep expanding to continue to make space for the abandoned animals that need a second chance. If you have any experience in building we are looking to use this funding to expand out current cat room. Please come in or contact Jacque for help or ideas. We have started a new volunteer program for the I.B. Program at the middle school. We look forward to having your help this summer! For this program we are going to offer a different approach for our volunteers. We are going to assign each child who is interested in volunteering with us, their own pet to be responsible for. We are hoping to not only give the animal individual attention, but also to teach responsibility and the workings of an animal shelter to the individual volunteer. They will be taught to walk, feed, exercise, brush, groom, bathe, raise funds to care for, name (in some cases), and potentially go on the home visit to a potential adopters home. My wish is that each child learns not only the responsibility of caring for a pet, but also the joy of saving a life. As one shelter our reach can only go so far, but with each family the possibilities of rescuing lives can be endless. Each volunteer must always be accompanied by an adult family member when volunteering and hours will be on an individual basis and can be set during the initial tour of the facility. Please contact Jacque with any questions or to sign up. We are creating a large board in our new adoption room and want to fill it with your pictures of our adopted babies. Please send us any great photos you have so that everyone can see the life you have saved! We know the economy is tough and we are trying to offer discounted services for all of our rescue pets. Remember at the shelter we offer: free nail trimming for our rescued pets Boarding at 11.25/night for dogs and 7.50/night for cats Bath specials starting at 11.25 and only going to 30.00 for a full groom Also we know flea and tick season is quickly approaching and have talked to a local pest control company. Pest Arrest is offering all of our rescues a free perimeter spray to help you get through the summer. If interested, please call 772-713-0473. Remember, it is much easier to prevent than treat a flea and tick problem! We also have the lowest prices on topical flea and tick products such as advantage, frontline, advantix, and preventic collars. Amy Robinson is also offering training classes for all of our prior rescues at a very discounted rate in our new backfield on Wednesdays. If interested, please call 772-696-2032! Remember us for all of your pets needs and keep in touch! We care for and miss our rescues and really enjoy seeing them and helping you in any way we can!
