About Us
We are in the process of planning our Fifth Annual Walk In A Pack and Poker Stroll and would love for you to join us. Over the past five years we have made great improvements to the facility, thanks in a large part to your generous donations. We would like the opportunity to show you just where your contributions are going. Each walk so far has proven more successful than the last; we are hoping this year’s walk is no different. This is a chance for you to get other people involved in our mission to save as many lives as we can. This is also our chance to thank all of you for continuing to support us each year. Even if you do not wish to participate in the actual walk please join us for the celebration afterwards in the dog park. It is your continued support that made the dog park possible; we are excited for everyone to see how far we have come in just the last few years.
Please mark your calendar for Saturday, December 10th! You can register at the shelter anytime before the event. Final registration for the walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. by the Splashpad at Riverview Park (Parking just east of Arpat’s Dry Cleaning). The actual walk is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. This year’s walk will have an optional “Poker Stroll”; collect playing cards at different stations, including Mulligan’s, Chill & Grill, Two Nuts and A Clam, along the walk. Participants in the Poker Stroll will receive a card at each station with the final card being dealt at H.A.L.O. Rescue. The winning poker hand will receive a two-night stay at the beautiful Spring Hill Suites by Marriott in Vero Beach. We will be walking up Indian River Drive from Riverview Park to the shelter on Jackson Street. The celebration in the dog park is expected to start around 12:00 with lunch provided by Mulligan’s Restaurant. A K-9 demonstration will follow presented by the Sebastian Police Department. There will be drinks, professional pet portraits, face painting, raffles and lots more for the whole family.
Also please take advantage of a low cost vaccine clinic and microchipping provided by The Florida Veterinary League.
I really hope all of our adopters and supporters will come out and celebrate just how far we have come in the last five years. After all, it is your support that has made it all possible. I look forward to seeing you at the event!
