We are a NO-KILL, non-profit rescue and adoption facility dedicated to finding wonderful homes for wonderful pets. We have dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, and other loving pets longing for a new forever home. We currently have over 50 cats and kittens, and more than 70 dogs and puppies looking for new homes.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fees are as follows: $105.00 dogs, $60.00 cats, with a $25.00 non refundable application. Fees for other animals vary. Your Adoption fee covers spay/neuter, current vaccines, leuk/Aids, heartworm, fecal testing, and microchipping. We do require a home visit as the last step of the adoption process for all dogs. For home visits outside of Indian River County an additional trip charge will apply.
Our Featured Pet...
We would like to introduce you to Amy. Amy is a four year old Schipperke mix with a heart murmer. She also has some issues with her skin that require special baths and medication to keep her from being itchy. She is a sweetheart with so much love to give, but she needs a special person with a kind heart to help her with her medical problems.
SAVE A HEART
Every year thousands of dogs are infected with Heartworms. Heartworms are trasferred to a dog when an ifected mosquito bites the dog. These worm larvae find their way to the dogs heart and grow like strands of spaghetti, destroying the heart as they grow. A simple pill once a month can prevent this from happening, and usually costs less than $5.00. Heartworms gone untreated are fatal; the treatment can be fatal in itself. This is why prevention is the best cure. Unfortunately we receive many Heartworm positive dogs each year (in 2009 we received and treated 13). The cost to treat each dog is $225.00 (Shelter cost). We also maintain the Heartworm prevention pills on every dog in our facility. You can help save these Heartworm positive dogs by donating to the Save A Heart Fund. Each donation of $225.00 provides an entire treatment for one dog. Can't provide the treatment but still want to help? A donation of $50.00 covers the cost of the preparatory medication that a Heartworm positive dog needs for the month prior to treatment.
Remember we are a 501c3and all donations are tax deductible.

We received a beautiful brand new washing machine from Denis Logan! Now our towels and blankets are squeeky clean!
***UPDATE*** COMMERCIAL WASHER
We have realized that we really need a commercial washer like you see at the laundry mat. A 40-60lb load capacity is what was recommended to us. If anyone out there has any connections please let us know! While our new washer is working nicely we are still not able to keep up with the amount of dirty blankets and towels created in a single day.

As many of you may know, our air conditioners have finally gone out. Thankfully they carried us through the heat of Summer. We have received estimates in the range of $20,000-30,000. We are currently trying to raise the funds for this project and reaching out to any animal loving air conditioning professionals who may be able to help.
