BIG HEARTS Rescue was founded in the summer of 2007. Based in Pasco County, Florida, our non-profit organization is made up of volunteers who freely give their love, time, and support in order to rehabilitate, foster, and ultimately give a better life to needy animals. Through action and education, we hope to not only to educate the public on animal-related issues, but to help foster an atmosphere of understanding and mutual respect for the plight of needy animals. Many of our fosters are special needs and we hope you consider adopting one of them. Just one person really can make a world of difference!! To each animal that you help, you are changing their whole world for the better-- that's why our motto is "Making a Difference, One Animal at a Time!"
Fostering Pets is a wonderful experience and does SO MUCH GOOD!
There are so many pets in need these days, and we are always looking for those very special people who are willing to step forward and help those that cannot help themselves. We are currently in need of foster homes and volunteers in and around the Pasco and Hillsborough county areas (and others). If you are interested in knowing the joy of having these sweet and frequently inspiring animals in your life as they await their forever homes, please contact us at bhrescue@gmail.com. All of our foster families are fully supported by the organization, and BIG HEARTS bears all of the financial needs of the animals in our care. Caring for many animals can get expensive, especially the veterinary bills for the special ones that need a little extra help getting back on their feet. If you wish to give a monetary donation via credit card, click on the "donate" button or please mail checks to our address (below). Any donations of equipment, clothing, and other valuables are put to good use through our regular EBAY auctions that help raise money for our rescue. Please check out our ebay listings under the ebay i.d "bigheartsrescue". Each and every donation is greatly appreciated!
Adopting a friend
Each and every animal adoptee you see under the care of BIG HEARTS will be up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, microchipped, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested, Canine Heartworm tested, and free of fleas and parasites We use integrative veterinary care (a combination of holistic and conventional medicine) for the best all-around care of our adoptees. Our goal is that you and your new pet grow old together! If you cannot adopt at this time but would like to help sponsor a foster then please consider making a donation in the pet of your choice's name! Your donation will go directly to fulfilling their needs and giving them the happy, healthy life they deserve! For more information please contact us! bhrescue@gmail.com
Morrisis laid back and loving cat! And don't let his special needs status scare you-- he is FIV+ but is completely healthy and symptom free! He is a wonderful and loving companion who gets along well with all people and animals!
Jake is a BIG boy with a BIG personality to match! He is an absolutely fantastic cat who loves to cuddle and love all the time. Once you hold this armful, you will never look back!
Pepper is a sweet little kitten who happens to have nerve degeneration in his eyes and thus can only see shadows and basic shapes. Not to worry though-- he is a happy boy because he can smell and play and love just fine!
BIG HEARTS long-term goal is to have a shelter for all of our rescues and we are working hard for donations that would make this possible. Currently, we do not have a shelter and all of our adoptees are in foster homes. Please contact us if you are interested in a particular adoptee and would like to set up a visit.
