Cayman Humane Society
Who We Are
The Mission of the Cayman Islands Humane Society is to provide shelter, care and attention to all unwanted companion animals, and seek out responsible and loving homes for them.
To assist the community in all aspects of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership and help combat the problems of pet overpopulation and animal abuse through our Spay and Neuter clinic, financial assistance and education within the community.
Adopting a friend
The fact that you're thinking about adopting from an animal shelter means you're a responsible and caring person. But before you make that decision to bring a furry friend into your life, take a moment to think over these questions:
Why do you want a pet?
Do you have time for a pet?
Can you afford a pet?
Can you have a pet where you live?
Are your living arrangements suitable for the animal you have in mind?
Will you be a responsible pet owner?
Finally, are you prepared to keep and care for the pet for his or her entire lifetime?
Our Featured Pet... Cody
If you are looking for an energetic playful handsome dog, then Cody is the one for you! At two years old Cody is fully mature, and fully grown. He is medium build and sports the lovely honey coloured coat so distinctive of the Cayman Dog 'breed'. This boy is a lovely lad, he's attentive and bright and just loves to play. Cody can be a little boisterous especially around young children, he just wants to see them and play but he is probably best suited to a home without little ones. He would definitely benefit from an owner who will take the time to do some basic training with him, and also give him plenty of exercise on a daily basis. Cody just loves to explore!. His intelligent nature indicates that you'll never have a dull day with Cody around, and he will make a loving and loyal pet. His tawny eyes, erect ears and glossy coat single him out as one of the more stately looking dogs you'll likely to find, and he could be all yours!
