Every month the sanctuary has more new cats that come to stay. Haven Acres is run strictly on donations and volunteers, both are desperately needed. While Haven Acres depends on your tax deductible donations to support its many programs, there are other ways to help. The heart and soul of the sanctuary are our volunteers. There are numerous areas where volunteers are needed. It takes many hours every day just to maintain the level of cleanliness but, we also need volunteers to help in other ways as well. All of our cats could use the attention of humans to love and pet them and spend some quality one on one time with them. If you are a cat lover, you will experience an ever lasting gift of feline company and the satisfaction of knowing that YOU are helping make the difference in the lives of these well deserving homeless cats.Who We Are
Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary was established in 2003 by three individuals driven by a strong desire to help the many stray, feral, and unwantedcats in Alachua County. The sanctuary is located in High Springs, Florida, which is about 20 minutes outside of Gainesville, Florida. Since its inception, no cat that has needed help has been turned away. Cats that live at the sanctuary are kept on a healthy diet (Science Diet) and are provided with safe, secure housing. Along with being spayed/neutered they are also provided with any other medical attention needed. Many of the cats are adoptable and wait for a forever home to come get them. Cats that are less adoptable due to age, temperment, or color have a safe, loving home at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives.Adopting a friend
All cats and kittens up for adoption are FeLv/FIV tested (neg/neg), vacinated, altered, wormed, flea treated, and micro-chipped. Adoption fee is $95.00 for one or $165.00 for a pair. Please e-mail to set up a time to meet your potential family member. We adopt by appointment only since the sanctuary is run by volunteers who all have other jobs as well. Appointments are ususally made on weekends or after 5 PM weekdays. We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean.
