Ocala, FL
Marion County Animal Services operates out of the Animal Center. The center serves as a one-stop resource for animal services where staff is responsible for the humane housing, care, redemption and adoption of unwanted, abandoned and stray domestic animals and livestock.
Nearly 15,000 animals come through the center's doors each year, brought by citizens who have found strays, by pet owners who no longer want their pets and by animal control officers who seize the animals. Citizens can also take advantage of low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, rabies vaccines, county licenses and microchips for their pets at the Animal Center as well as through the Neuter Commuter.
