This sweet little girl is looking for a home. Pookie is a 3 years old Pekingese mix that would like to be the center of attention. She is a couch potato so no marathons for her just a lot of cuddle time.

Can't adopt but still want to help?
Here's a new easy way to raise money for Adopt a Rescued Pet Inc. Just start using GoodSearch.com as your search engine and online shopping mall. You will need to select Adopt a Rescued Pet as the charity. Who We Are
Adopt A Rescued Pet is a group founded by dedicated, experienced and caring volunteers. Our animals primarily come to us from the public and animal shelters where they are at risk for euthanasia. Pets are cared for by volunteer foster moms and dads in private homes. This provides an opportunity to evaluate the individual animal's health, temperament and needs. We screen potential adoptive families so that we can help them find an animal that will fit with their lifestyle and preferences. Our goal is to provide previously unwanted animals with a stable home and love for a lifetime.
Adopting a friend
Though we believe that life is sweeter with a dog or cat by your side, please remember that animals will depend on you for love, attention, training, housing and medical care for up to 20 years. Most of the animals you see here were abandoned by owners that could not or chose not to fulfill that lifetime obligation. Before you fall in love with that special dog or cat, please make an honest assessment of how prepared you are to meet your pet's needs for the rest of its life. For most people that truly want a pet, there is one that will fit your lifestyle and preferences. We will be happy to help you find that special pet and support you as you become a family.
Why Not Free?
1) Pet rescues have learned that people do not value something that is free and/or easy to get and consider it more easily disposable.
2) Ethical rescues spay or neuter, give shots, heartworm tests, and provide a loving environment for pets while they wait for their permanent homes. Keep in mind that non-profit rescues are not funded with tax dollars to pay these expenses, but are private organizations, operated by volunteers and donations. Adoption donations do not always cover all expenses, with many of the pets, but do help to defray much of the cost. Consider if you were to take a pet to the vet to be altered, receive health vaccines, etc. What would this cost you?
Come Visit Us!
We are extremely fortunate that several local groomers allow us to display photos of our pets in their shops
