Our Featured Pet...

Inky was found when she was only five weeks old, alone and starving near a large feral cat colony. Her eyes were matted shut. After she was cleaned up, medicated and fed, she seemed to be unable to see. Cats Angels took Inky to visit Dr. Daniel Brown at the Animal Eye Clinic in Jacksonville who examined her and diagnosed immature cataracts. Inky had several follow-up visits with Dr. Brown and the last one in mid-November showed that her cataracts had dissolved and no surgery was necessary. Inky is now available for adoption - and she is a very sweet kitten who has always been in foster care. Dr. Brown would like to see her again in April 2012 and that would be a complimentary visit for the new family who adopts her. Please contact us to meet Inky - you will be happy you did.

All have received at least their first FVRCP booster. Fecal exams and deworming are also done when necessary.

Volunteers are always welcomed and needed. If you like to work retail, consider helping out at our Thrift Store. If you want to work with the cats, we have two shifts per day in the Adoption Center for cleaning, feeding and socializing. We also have cats at the St. Johns Town Center PetsMart adoption center. Our volunteers are there every weekend for adoptions and volunteers are needed for that location. Please call 321-2267 to let them know how you can help out or stop by the Thrift Store/Adoption Center at 709 S. 8th Street, Fernandina Beach. We are open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
