Pet of the Month
Bonz
This Dog
is Being Fostered in: Eustis, FL
Florida Residents Only
Hi, my name is Bonz. I have quite a story to tell. I was starved and
left outside for more that two months. I was flea infested and really
sick. The neighbors called Lake County Animal Control and they came and
picked me up. They called Marilyn right away and she came and picked up
me and my friend Shelby, who had come in the same day. We have become
good friends.
We are not sure what breed I am, just know that I am a sweet and
wonderful little girl. It has been touch and go and I am still not out
of the woods yet. I am eating four meals a day and some snacks too.
I have gained a pound and Doc says that is good. I was really anemic
from all the flea bites. I have a hard time absorbing the food, but I
sure love to eat. I stay in a big pen to protect my fragile little body.
Doc has me on some supplements and vitamins and good food.
I love everyone that comes to visit me and I love the other dogs too.
Everyone loves me and they cuddle me and some cry when they see me. I
don't know why, cause I am just so happy to have a warm soft bed and
some food.
Marilyn was not going to put me on the site, but people keep asking how
I am doing, so we thougt it would be a good idea. We will keep updating
progress as we go along.
It will be a long time before I can be adopted, but I am hoping to find
a family that will love me and care for me. I still have hope that there
are good people in this world.
Please keep me in your prayers and hearts. I know that I will get better
if you do. And when the time comes, you can fill out an application to
adopt me. I will love you and make you so happy.
Please go to:

girl with the huge heart.

One by One........................
One by One, they pass by my space, Too old, too worn, too broken, no way. Way past his time, he can't run and play, They shake their heads slowly and go on their way. A little old man, arthritic and sore, It seems I am not wanted anymore. I once had a home, I once had a bed, A place that was warm, and where I was fed. Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail. Who wants a dog so old and frail? My family decided I didn't belong, I got in their way, my attitude was wrong. Whatever excuse they made in their head, Can't justify how they left me for dead. Now I sit in this place, where day after day, the younger dogs get adopted away. When I had almost come to the end of my rope, You saw my face and I finally had hope. You saw through the grey, and the legs bent with age, And felt I still had life beyond this place. You took me home, gave me food and a bed, And shared your own pillow with my poor tired head. We snuggle and play, you talk to me low, You love me so dearly, you want me to know. I may have lived most of my life with another, But you outshine them with a love so much stronger. And I promise to return all the love I can give, To you, my dear person, as long as I live. I may be with you for a week, or for years, We will share many smiles, you will no doubt shed tears. And when the time comes that God deems I must leave, I know you will cry and your heart, it will grieve. And when I arrive at the Bridge, all brand new, My thoughts and my heart will still be with you. And I will brag to all who will hear, Of the person who made my last days so dear. ..................Author Unknown
Please think about adopting an older dog, you
won't be sorry.
