Who We Are

Bless Their Hearts Kitty Haven is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a loving, safe, happy and healthy home for unwanted, abandoned, homeless and abused cats. We will never euthanize a cat due to not being able to place him/her in a loving home. They will ALWAYS have a home here at Bless Their Hearts. All of our cats and kittens will be spayed/neutered, given yearly vaccinations and physicals and medications if needed. Whatever our kitty’s need, they will get!!! Our goal here at Bless Their Hearts Kitty Haven is to find loving parents and homes for our kitty’s. Our adoption process is very detailed and our guidelines are very strict. We will visit our potential adoptive parents in their home to make sure their home is suitable for our kitty’s. We are not looking for just a home, we are looking for the perfect home. We expect our Adopter to provide a safe, loving, happy home for the rest of the kitty’s natural life. Potential parents will be counseled on the complete care of the kitty. They will sign an adoption agreement. Our Adoption page explains our guidelines along with our Adoption questionnaire and application. As you will see, our guidelines are strict. Every cat deserves the very best that we humans can give.>We live in a “throw-away” society. If we get tired of something or even someone, we just throw it/them away. It seems to be an acceptable act in our society to “throw-away” our companion animals. Reasons for abandonment we hear are: “The cat scratches us when we play”, “The cat howls and meows all the time”, “The cat pees outside of the litter box”, “Our cat is ruining our furniture, he is clawing it to peace’s”, “I am pregnant, it is not safe for me to have a cat anymore”... These are just a few excuses humans use for getting rid of their 4 legged family member. All of the above behaviors can be addressed and averted. Remember, just as our children need to be trained, so do our pets. Yes, a cat CAN be trained. Our Goals Are: To provide humane care and treatment for cats in a shelter facility. We will limit the occupants to the number that can be charitably housed. Have a licensed veterinarian perform a physical exam on each cat before it is introduced into the main facility. All cats will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before they are adopted. In cases where kittens are to young for sterilization, we will make a future appoint- ment with a specified licensed vet. To make a sincere effort to find reliable, loving homes for adoptable cats. Find foster homes for the ill and very young in order for them to gain strength before they enter the main facility. Seek to return lost companion animals to their families. Educate and promote spay/neuter as the ONLY humane means of animal control. To alleviate the suffering of animals other than cats. To educate the public on humane animal care. WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF DONATIONS. Bless Their Hearts Kitty Haven, Inc. is funded entirely by private donations and fundraising projects. All the proceeds go directly to the needs of the cats. This includes the costs for Veterinary care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, food and other supplies. Last year our director spent $13,000.00 plus (out of her pocket) on the kittys needs. Because we do not euthanize unless the kitty has a fatal injury of disease, we purchase medication for our kitty’s that need it. Unfortunately we have to pay full price for the medications. In the past few weeks, we have had to turn down cats and kittens due to our shelter being full. We are planning a new to build a new facility and need funds, material and labor donated to us.
