Who We Are
Florida Russell Rescue, Inc. is a local part of a much larger national organization, Russell Rescue, Inc. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER! We are a 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit organization that relies entirely on volunteers. Our dogs come from shelters, owner turn-ins and strays. We try to reserve foster homes for dogs that have nowhere else to go, asking owners who wish to surrender their dogs to
house them until we are able to place them in a suitable home. All of our available terriers are current on vaccinations, on heartworm preventative, and are spayed or neutered before placement.

There are many JRTs in need of homes, in Florida and throughout the United States, because many folks get these dogs without truely researching them. JRTs are high energy, high drive dogs who will rule your life if you let them! They require obedience training and discipline. They do not make good apartment dogs for most and the majority do not get along well with cats. A SECURED FENCED YARD is a must for most JRTs. Although cute, and smart, these dogs are not for everyone!
