News

Thousands of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized each year in Brevard County because there simply are not enough homes for them all. The Central Brevard Humane Society is working to change that. There is no question that spaying and neutering saves lives, and the Humane Society is doing its part to end pet overpopulation in our community by offering a low cost spaying/neutering service to the public for their pets, in a way of a spay/neuter and wellness clinic. By providing spay/neuter surgeries at an inexpensive rate, this veterinary clinic will help pet owners who are unable to afford this type of surgery, which can cost hundreds of dollars. The facility measures 2,500 square feet and has been outfitted with the latest state-of-the-art equipment. It is located directly behind the shelter in Cocoa, and it is open Tuesday -Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule an appointment for your pet, call (321) 636-3343 and then press 1 or email clinicinfo@crittersavers.com.

Who We Are

Founded in 1952, the Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) is the oldest established animal welfare organization in Brevard County. A No Kill for Space shelter, CBHS is dedicated to speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. The Humane Society educates the community on responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals, advocates for spaying/neutering to reduce the homeless pet population and provides the best quality care to the abandoned animals of Brevard by placing them with responsible, caring owners in forever homes.

Adopting a friend

All animals are given up-to-date vaccines and are de-wormed upon intake. Adult dogs are given heartworm tests and have been spayed/neutered. Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. At the time of adoptions, an additional $10.00 per cat/dog is collected for tag license fees required by the Brevard County Animal Control Services, plus a $2.00 handling fee. A $15.00 fee is also collected, if we have administered a rabies vaccine to the animal. We accept cash payments, debit cards and credit cards (VISA, Master Card & Discover).
