Who We Are
The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is a nationally accredited non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and safe shelter for homeless animals and education to the community on responsible animal stewardship.
Adopting a friend
Selecting a companion animal for your family is a 10 to 20 year commitment. We strongly encourage prospective adopters to research any particular breed and realistically consider the time, space, activity level, training needs and resources you can regularly provide a particular animal before you adopt.
Adoption Fees and Services:
Cat or Kitten adoption fee is $20. Dog or Puppy adoption fee is $90.
Services include:
Animal health check.
First vaccinations. (including Rabies)
Spay or Neuter.
Initial de-worming.
Microchip.
Delivery of your new companion animal to the Veterinarian on the next regular business day.
Medical Examination by a Veterinarian.
Feline Leukemia testing for cats.
Pre-adoption Counseling Session.
Heartworm check in dogs.
