WHO WE ARE

We are a national 501c3 non-profit rescue comprised of volunteers all over the United States and Canada that place Catahoula Leopard Dogs into loving, caring, and permanent homes. These dogs come from high kill shelters and we do our best to save them all, but because of over population and back yard breeders, we will never be able to keep up. The good news is, we will never give up either. We need Fosters and Volunteers, every hand counts in saving lives! Scroll down to look at our pet list below and PLEASE save a life today.

ADOPTION PROCEDURES

People wishing to adopt a dog through Catahoula Rescue SE must first complete an Adoption Application. The Application is extensive, please answer all the questions, otherwise it will hold up the application process. We do reserve the right to deny anyone for any reason. When the adoption application is complete the Rescue Representative will review the application, call all references, discuss parts of your answers with you, and arrange for a home visit during the application approval process. After you have completed the application and submitted it, please be patient--it may be several days before you hear back from a representative. Most CRI Volunteers have jobs during the day, as well as families and their own dogs to tend to in the evenings. This is a labor of love for us all, and we work very hard to respond as quickly as possible to potential adopters.

HELP SUPPORT CATAHOULA RESCUE SE (CRI SE)

Although CRI SE charges an adoption fee for Catahoulas we place in new homes, this is never enough to cover our expenses. Ordinary vet costs (vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test and preventative, etc.) often exceed adoption fees, and we never recoup the day-to-day, miscellaneous expenses of housing foster dogs. When we commit to a dog that requires special care or surgery, these costs can become exorbitant. Sometimes foster space isn't available, and we may need to board a dog temporarily. All of these costs quickly add up. We need your help to be able to provide the best care possible for homeless Catahoulas. Giving a donation to our organization not only helps pay for ordinary expenses, but also helps us with our many extraordinary expenses. This donation is tax deductible too!! You can also Sponsor A Dog! Many people are unable to foster a dog but would like to help. There is no better way of helping than to sponsor a dog. Your donations will help with the care of "your" dog! Should the donation exceed the dogs expenses the remainder will be put into the General Fund to help other Catahoulas that may need it.

We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces. It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within.

FEATURED CATAHOULA


Buster is a 1 yr old Catahoula with beautiful blue eyes, everyone that meets him loves him. We pulled Buster from a very high kill shelter in FL minutes before he was going to be euthanized. After we had Buster vetted we found out that he has Luxating Patella's in both knees and requires surgery on both of them. His knees pop out and are causing him a great deal of pain, he can not run and play with the other dogs until this is fixed. The surgery is $1,500 per knee. Thru fundraising and generous donations we raised enough money for Buster to have the surgery on one of his knees in November '07. The orthopedic surgeon said that he would have a normal life if he were to get the surgery. Since his first surgery in November he is feeling great. He is now ready for his 2nd and Final surgery which is $1,500 for the other knee. Please consider a donation to help pay for his surgery.
