We are open for adoptions EVERY day from 11a.m. until 3p.m.
with the exception of major holidays.
Who We Are
We are a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer, limited intake shelter for the unwanted, homeless and abandoned animals in our community.
Every SPCA member, Board Member, and volunteer has extreme compassion for all of the animals in our care. The animals here are in need of forever families. They also need people from our community to come and volunteer at the shelter. A little compassion goes a long way when it comes to helping an animal in need!
Our Featured Pet...
. Our featured pet(s) for June are any of our older or "mature" cats or dogs that have been residents of our shelter way too long. Some were brought in as babies and were never adopted, some came in as older dogs or cats, some just didn't have the kind of personalities that made them easily adoptable. You'll be taking home a companion that some might deem a challenge, but the rewards are indescribable and the rewards will be memorable

We also have set up a 2ND CHANCE FUND THROUGH BB&T BANK. This fund was established in order to give necessary medical treatment to animals that need more than we can afford, but deserve a "2ND CHANCE". It is named after a very special puppy who stole our hearts with his determination to live and fight and grow and be a normal puppy. Won't you please donate to this special fund, so adoptable pets can get the special care they need, instead of just being disgarded as defective? Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee's are as follows: CASH ONLY, PLEASE!
***DOGS & PUPPIES***
Puppies: (3 months to 18 mo) are $150.00+plus
Dogs over 18 mo. are $125.00+plus
Designer or speciality dogs may start at $175.00 and up
If the pets are not old enough to be spayed or neutered an addtional cost of $100.00 is added onto the adoption, but then refunded to you, within 30 days the spay/neuter is completed.
The adoption fee for our dogs and puppies include:
up-to-date shots, spay/neuter, deworming, flea prevention, bordatella, vet checks, a bag of puppy/dog food, training tape and an i.d. tag.
***CATS & KITTENS***
Kittens/cats up to 3 years of age are $65, already declawed $85.00
Cats 3 yrs to 5 yrs are $50, already declawed $65.00
Cats over 5yrs. are $40+plus
Special needs cats are sometimes negotiable
Speciality cats/kittens may be $85.00+
+ $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit. (if not done by the time they leave shelter)
The adoption fee for our cats & kittens include:
FIV/Felv tested, up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter, flea prevention, vet checked, bag of kitten/cat food and training tape. You MUST complete a 1 page adoption application (we check references & landlord info), we need a copy of your current driver's license and we accept CASH ONLY FOR DEPOSITS ON HOLDING THE ANIMAL AND FOR THE ADOPTION. We may also do a house check and suggest in the case of dogs, you bring back any other doggie family members for a Meet 'n Greet in our play yards for compatibility. Click to see our events!
