Adoption BoothsAdoption Booths are held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month at PETsMART on Capital Circle NE (next to Home Depot), from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM. If there is a specific animal you are interested in please call 224-9193 before the booth, so that we can make sure that they'll be there.Keep in mind - even if you can't adopt an animal right now, Leon County Humane Society needs volunteers for a variety of activities. Please feel free to contact the office about joining our force of wonderful volunteers. |
About the Leon County Humane SocietyThe Leon County Humane Society (LCHS) is a private, nonprofit organization that has been working to improve the lives of companion animals in the Tallahassee area since 1960. LCHS rescues and finds permanent homes for hundreds of dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets every year. In addition, the organization funds spays and neuters (1,000 animals in 2006) and provides educational programs for children, adolescents, adults and seniors throughout our community.LCHS is supported completely by donations from individuals, businesses, wills and bequests. We do not receive any state or federal funding, and we are not a United Way agency. The Leon County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Our mission is to relieve animal suffering, prevent animal cruelty, eliminate animal overpopulation, promote humane education, and to enhance the human to animal bond. |
Adopting a Furry FriendIf you are interested in one of our fine animals for adoption please contact our office at 850-224-9193. We are open Monday - Thursday from 10am to 5pm and from 10am-1pm on Friday. Our adoptable pets live with foster parents and are not housed at our office. So please call first and we'll set up an appointment. Or you can visit us at any of our Adoption Booths which are held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month at PetSmart, 3220 Capital Circle NE (next to Home Depot) from 11 AM - 4 PM.To verify our next Adoption Booth see our website. Come Visit Us!We'd love to meet you! We are located at 413 Timberlane Road (North of Interstate 10, and just east of Meridian Road). Please keep in mind, our adoptable pets live with foster parents and are not housed at our office.
