Pet of the Month

.

News!

We are now microchipping dogs and cats 4 months and older with the Avid brand microchips for a $10.00 donation. All animals received at our shelter are checked for microchips upon entry into our facility. It makes it much easier to locate an owner in the event a collar is lost!

Who We Are

The Southeast Volusia Humane Society is a non-profit organization. Operated primarily on donations. It is our primary goal to place all adoptable animals brought to our shelter into loving homes. Our mission is the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education to the public.

Adopting a Friend

To adopt a pet please come to our shelter. There may be a "best friend" waiting here for you. All adoptions must take place at the shelter. We do not ship out our animals. The cost of adopting is $75.00. The adoption fees include spay or neuter operation, rabies vaccination, distemper vaccination, worming, heart worm medication (for dogs), I.D. tag and a free health exam at a participating veterinarian. All dogs 6 months and older are tested for heartworms and are on a once-a-month heartworm preventative.
