The Humane Society of Sarasota County provides medical care, shelter and love to about 4,000 abandoned pets each year. The Humane Society of Sarasota County, Inc. supports and works with breed and mixed breed rescues for both cats and dogs in an attempt to keep euthanasia rates down. We are proud to report that the HSSC has, in collaboration with many, many dedicated rescue groups, saved hundreds of animals that would have otherwise been euthanized. It is our goal and our dream to never have to euthanize another animal -- you can help by taking a homeless cat or dog into your home as your loving companion.
Adopting a friend
For just $55 for a cat, $65 for kitten 5 months and younger, or $65 for a dog or $75 for a puppy 5 months and younger, you can take home the pet of your choice from the many we have here at the shelter. The adoption fee for a senior animal, 7 years and older, are reduced by $10 from the cat and dog fee. The adoption fee includes the cost of spaying or neutering your pet, micro-chipping, annual vaccinations and a rabies vaccination. HSSC members and prevoius adopters receive a $10.00 discount off the regular adoption fee.
