The Chesapeake Bay Retriever - one of the only true American breeds - is a wonderful,
special breed of dog. They are very different from, and not related to, Labrador and Golden Retrievers. Due to the difference in breed
traits, careful consideration should be used prior to getting a Chessie.
Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief &
Rescue, Inc. (CBRR&R) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated
to rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted, neglected and abused
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
CBRR&R strives to educate the public,
breeders and fanciers on responsible dog ownership including spaying
and neutering, proper medical care and appropriate training. CBRR&R
also teaches prospective Chesapeake owners of the special qualities,
characteristics and requirements of a Chesapeake Bay Retriever
before they acquire one.
All dogs adopted through CBRR&R are
spayed/neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, tested for
heartworms and started on heart worm prevention.
